Life Reset: Hobnobbing
The third New Era Online novel sends Oren, alongside his companions Bob and Yulli, into the heavily stratified military city of Akzar to secure a trade agreement for the resources his settlement needs. Posing as a slave to slip past the city's guarded rings, Oren works through a series of local favors, sabotage, and increasingly risky infiltration to earn the sponsorships and blessings required for access to its most restricted district, all while trying to avoid the city's harsh laws against goblins. His investigation of the city's magical viridium supply lands him in danger when the tower's hobgoblin shaman traps part of his consciousness and lands him in the city's brutal gladiatorial pits, forcing a tense escape. Meanwhile, a separate group of new monster-race players tries to gain a foothold in a nearby human city by working small jobs in hopes of being tolerated enough to enter.
