Raytak (Protagonist)

An Imperium commander who leads the First Legion in defense of Hayden's Knoll. Outside Limitless Lands, he remains in a MedPod while Cleo treats his failing health and shields damaged areas of his memory.
Delling (Supporting)
Appears from the start
The governor responsible for developing Hayden's Knoll. He supports Raytak's campaign by managing the settlement, its resources, and the civil side of the Imperium's growing foothold.
Yendis (Supporting)
Appears from the start
A druid allied with Raytak who adventures alongside Jacoby and her unicorn-beetle companion, Crunchy. Her party contributes reconnaissance and practical help to the effort around Hayden's Knoll.
Tai (Supporting)
Appears from the start
Raytak's fellow former MedPod patient, who knows him through Limitless Lands.
Cleo (Supporting)
Appears from the start
The artificial intelligence directing Raytak's MedPod care. Cleo balances urgent physical treatment with the slower repair of his memories and blocks information that could endanger his recovery.

The student ruler of Ironloch and the third participant offered a graduate scholarship. She declines the rivalry wager and plans to restart with friends for a less competitive style of play.
Phineas (Minor)

A merchant who offers Yendis specialized equipment for Crunchy. His class-restricted mount gear points her toward the requirements for a new prestige class.
Deacon (Supporting)

A gnome engineer acting as courier for an unidentified sender. He delivers Yendis's party a magically sealed package that only its intended recipient can open and refuses to disclose who commissioned him.
James Raytak (Protagonist)

The man known in the game as Raytak, identified by his given name during a protected family visit. He is Natalie's husband and remains dependent on Cleo's careful separation of safe memories from dangerous ones.
Natalie (Supporting)

Raytak's wife and Yendis's grandmother. She receives them in a personal environment created by the treatment system, where family contact can occur within Raytak's medical safeguards.
Elf War Leader (Antagonist)

The elite commander of the hostile border elves. She uses Raytak's murdered captives to spring a false-parley ambush, establishing her clan as the immediate enemy in his campaign to unite the zone.
Stench (Supporting)

The heavily armed leader of an organized ogre group. After his people help rout elves and reavers near their cave, he accepts a temporary truce and agrees to meet Raytak instead of fighting the Legion.
Corrupted Dryad (Antagonist)

A dangerous dungeon guardian whose heart is required for Yendis's Swarmlord quest. Reaching and defeating this being is the first major condition on Yendis's path toward the prestige class.
Nathan (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 20
Tai's son and an operator of the family's expanded restaurant business. He supports Tai's return to ordinary life while trying to set practical expectations for the next generation.
Lamar (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 20
Tai's grandson, who hopes to support himself as a professional gamer. He agrees to contribute at the family restaurant while pursuing that goal and helps Tai prepare to enter Limitless Lands.
Rerolled Lightmage
First appears in chapter 22
A former hostile-guild organizer who returns on a new character and claims to have ended her old campaign. She offers money and intelligence to oppose the elves, though Raytak has reason to question whether her reform is genuine.
Pain Master (Antagonist)

The pain-magic ruler directing the elf assault on the eastern transition point. He treats failure as a capital offense and drives his forces toward the Imperium garrison with little tolerance for delay.
Dr. Greenway (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 27
Raytak's physician during a crisis caused by rejection of the first artificial-valve material. Working with Cleo, the doctor stabilizes him and begins rebuilding the valve from a different substance.
Gorax Leader (Supporting)

The chief of a starving ogre clan and bearer of its ancestral enchanted axe. He weighs Raytak's offer of land, autonomy, food, and trade against the clan's need to survive and defend the zone.
Gorax Shaman (Supporting)

A trusted spiritual adviser able to judge whether Raytak speaks truthfully. The shaman's assessment helps the Gorax leader decide whether the Imperium's proposed alliance can be accepted.
Lauren (Supporting)

Raytak's granddaughter, already known to him in Limitless Lands as Yendis. Cleo reveals the family connection under controlled conditions while continuing to filter details that could destabilize Raytak's recovering memory.
Drake (Minor)

The keeper of the former Foulspoor Pit, faced with losing the dungeon unless it gains a replacement boss. A boxed golden insect presents both an infection danger and a possible answer to the dungeon's survival.
Escaped Parasite Master (Antagonist)
First appears in chapter 35
A parasite master concealed inside a golden insect. It tries to infect Drake when released, but its appearance inside his dungeon gives him a chance to impose a system-enforced boss contract.
