Limitless Lands, Book III: Retribution

By Dean Henegar

The third entry in the Limitless Lands series turns on a frame-up: an Imperium field inspector convicts Commander Raytak of fabricated treason charges, strips his rank, and dissolves the Legion he built at Hayden's Knoll. Given a choice between starting over or fighting to clear his name, Raytak accepts imprisonment as a leveled-down Disgraced Commander and is sold into forced gladiatorial combat, where he refuses to kill defeated opponents even at cost to himself. Back at Hayden's Knoll, his allies Delling, Tai, Yendis, and Jacoby take up a time-limited quest to uncover who arranged his downfall, while in the real world his family and caregivers weigh his uncertain medical recovery. Elsewhere, a rival overlord regroups after an earlier defeat, and an ancient parasitic intelligence quietly seizes a new host in the wilderness.
