Mission of Honor

By David Weber

In this entry of the Honor Harrington series, the Solarian League reels after a Solarian admiral's unprovoked attack on Manticoran ships ends in the destruction of his own flagship and the surrender of his task force, an incident secretly engineered by the Mesan Alignment to push the League and Manticore toward open war. While Solarian officials debate how to respond and Honor Harrington travels personally into Haven to negotiate an end to that separate, long-running war, the Alignment quietly moves a covert strike force into position near the Manticore system, preparing a surprise attack meant to look untraceable. Across several fronts, political leaders, naval officers, and secret operatives maneuver toward a confrontation that could reshape the balance of power among the galaxy's great states.
