Continuing the Convergence series, this fourth entry follows the wizard Kazimir and his mixed group of knights, agents and Nether companions as they travel to France to investigate the Order, a rival group opening dangerous portals between Earth and the Nether. Guided partly by a companion's account of an angelic visitation, and divided over how much to trust it, the group sets up a base near a suspected Order archive site and begins cautious reconnaissance. As evidence mounts that the Order has its own wizard guarding the location, Kazimir tests his unusual ability to sense and bypass magical wards, pushing the team from watching the site toward a narrow, high-risk attempt to get inside.
