Renegades

By Craig Alanson

The seventh Expeditionary Force novel finds the Flying Dutchman's crew returning to Earth just as the Maxolhx move to investigate a wormhole that Skippy secretly altered, a discovery that could expose the planet to their notice. While the ship's commander, Bishop, is publicly blamed for the political fallout of earlier operations, Earth's frightened governments quietly move to seize the ship and consider surrendering it to another alien power rather than confronting the threat. When the takeover attempt fails, Bishop and a scrambled crew of volunteers steal the Flying Dutchman back and set out as renegades, determined to intercept the two Maxolhx ships before they can find Earth, in a mission that immediately turns into a covert heist for the technology needed just to gather intelligence on them.
