King Rinkitink (Protagonist)

Zella (Supporting)

The kind daughter of a poor charcoal burner. Zella carries supplies to Queen Cor and, despite her humble place, becomes an important friend to Inga when he most needs help.
Nikobob (Minor)

Zella's honest, independent father, who earns his living burning charcoal. Nikobob wants no reward that would make him responsible for ruling others and values his simple home over a crown.
Kaliko (Antagonist)
First appears in chapter 17
The current ruler of the underground Nome Kingdom. Kaliko receives the fleeing rulers of Regos and Coregos, then uses his own power and bargains to obstruct Inga's rescue.
Dorothy Gale (Supporting)

A girl from the Emerald City and one of Ozma's closest companions. Dorothy comes to the Nome Kingdom when Ozma learns of Inga's trouble, bringing friendly determination and the authority of Oz behind the rescue.
The Wizard of Oz (Supporting)

Ozma's inventive court magician. The Wizard accompanies Dorothy, studies the enchantments surrounding the captives, and brings skill as well as magic to the final rescue.
Prince Bobo (Supporting)

A prince of Boboland who has spent years hidden by an enchantment. The Wizard recognizes that the ill-tempered goat Bilbil is not what he appears and restores the prince's proper form.
