Shattered Boundaries

The third Ultimate Level 1 novel finds Max facing renewed scrutiny after his Berserker skill lets an internal, hostile presence briefly seize control of his body during a deadly encounter with attacking elves, leaving him flagged as a murderer under investigation by the local guard. His account of events earns him supervised sequestration rather than punishment, and his murderer flag then lifts on its own before Max and his party - Fowl, Tanila, and Batrire - resume dungeon-clearing and eventually commit to the Golden Axe faction, trading rare monster materials they have recovered for reduced dues and access to its facilities. As Max's unusual power keeps drawing attention, the party is pulled into an escalating citywide crisis when several dungeons break open at once, forcing them to fight alongside allied adventurers against overwhelming numbers of ogres.
