The General of Izril

By pirateaba

The sixth entry in The Wandering Inn follows several threads as the Goblin Lord's massive army marches past Liscor, leaving other Goblin leaders like Rags and Garen Redfang to decide whether to resist or fall in line. Rags leads her own tribe on careful, disciplined raids, but a massacre by human adventurers pushes her into a rare violent reprisal against a nearby town. Meanwhile, humans summoned from Earth, including the traumatized former clown Tom, navigate the demanding court of the Blighted King, where Tom's suppressed combat skills and an unstable inner voice emerge during a demon infiltration of the palace. At Liscor, Erin and Lionette care for the grieving young Gnoll Mrsha while a group of newly transformed Hobgoblins, cut off from their tribe, choose to defend a farming village under attack rather than flee toward safety.
