The twelfth entry in The Legend of Randidly Ghosthound finds Randidly rebuilding a shattered mechanical arm and preparing, in secret, to hunt down a dangerous enemy while a visiting off-world military force inspects Earth for any sign of forbidden power. Concealing his own abilities from the inspectors costs him time and control, and once they leave, a specialized investigator confronts him directly over suspected wrongdoing, forcing a brutal fight that tests every image and skill he has built. In the aftermath, Randidly is drawn into a painful reckoning with Ace, his oldest friend turned violent enemy, even as he commits to shaping Earth's future more openly, planning a tournament, a new academy, and a civic government for his rapidly growing city before an approaching deadline pulls him away again.
