In short (whole book)
When Earth joins the System, classless Randidly Ghosthound is trapped in a high-level dungeon. He survives through paths, potions, plant magic, and Shal's brutal spear training, then returns to Earth and helps establish Donnyton while refusing a class. The village develops its own leaders and survives escalating hordes. Randidly kills Ep-Tal with a soul seed that becomes Thorn, only to learn the Sphinx was another village's tribulation and Donnyton's remains hidden. A lead takes him south to Frankfurd, where he reunites with Tessa, searches unsuccessfully for his missing friends, and supports Alana's delegation. Frankfurd takes classes and triggers a massive horde. Randidly kills the invading Black Tusk Wolf Raid Boss, while the scarred singer Raina drives civilians into a violent defense. Frankfurd survives, Tessa stays, and Raina seeks passage north. Randidly improves his potion and spear paths and returns toward trainee-village Donnyton to face its still-unseen tribulation.
Story so far - through chapter 8 (this book)
The System accepts Earth into the Nexus and displaces Randidly Ghosthound into an Underground Jungle filled with creatures far above his ability. With no class and no available levels, he makes a healing safe room his base and develops through skills and paths. He learns to run, hide, fight, farm, use mana, and cultivate rapidly growing food. A stolen inventory and map improve his prospects, but the apparent dungeon exit is still distant and dangerous. Experimentation gives Randidly Monobolt, Heavy Blow, Entangling Roots, Mana Shield, resistances, and other survival tools. Real danger accelerates their growth, though frogs, howler monkeys repeatedly force him back to safety. Crystal-fed plants also change the refuge and its crops. At the end of this span, a wounded blue-skinned, three-eyed traveler reaches the healing pool after cutting through the surrounding frogs. The newcomer says they are both travelers and identifies the jungle as a level-35 dungeon, proving that Randidly's predicament extends beyond Earth.
Story so far - through chapter 19 (this book)
The traveler is Shal, a cursed spear fighter who needs food and healing. Randidly learns potion making and brews an enhanced restorative mixture that lets Shal leave the pool. Their attempt to use the entrance fails because Randidly has no class and cannot meet its level requirement. They instead agree to cross the dungeon and defeat its boss, with Shal training Randidly as his disciple and treating the cure as a debt Randidly can repay through assistance. Months of dungeon time turn Randidly into a spear fighter and support mage. He kills the deadly web spinner, survives orc shamans and their mental curses, learns Root Manipulation, and gains Green Spear Mastery. Against the Black Swamp Salamander, Randidly supports Shal with roots and magic and kills one summoned serpent. Shal saves him, suffers a serious arm wound, and finishes the boss. Randidly exits alone and learns that seven months in the dungeon were only about five Earth hours. He emerges into a geographically scrambled Newbie Zone, where villages, classes, and a seven-day protection deadline now govern survival. He sets out to find his family and missing friends while helping other survivors.
Story so far - through chapter 24 (this book)
Back on Earth, Randidly settles at an abandoned cabin, plants dungeon crops, and rescues a truckload of survivors from goblins. Donny, Tara, and Chubbs join the growing camp, and Randidly teaches them how skills, paths, and classes work. His defeat of a goblin leader provides the gold nexus coin needed to create a village. Nul appears as the village spirit and explains that the first person to accept a class will become chieftain. Randidly refuses because he believes remaining classless preserves the value of his many skills. The older survivor also waits, but Donny chooses a knight class and becomes chieftain. The village rises on the hill above the cabin, earns soul points, and begins a seven-day countdown to the loss of local protection. Stronger monsters will then approach. Randidly continues advancing spear and monster-slayer paths while choosing to remain close enough to help the new settlement prepare for that deadline.
Story so far - through chapter 35 (this book)
The settlement attracts more survivors and class-holders. Sam develops practical crafting, Decklan adds the Killer class to its fighters, and Dozer arrives as a strength-focused Brute. Donny trains under Randidly's severe methods, while Chubbs is established as Daniel, the Quartermaster who investigates Nul, shops, buildings, and the soul-point economy. A police group seeking classes is turned away with a gold coin of its own, leaving Donnyton independent. Randidly explores beyond the protected zone and barely defeats a level-33 shadow cat. He also learns new challenge skills from Nul, including Healing Palm and Fireball. When a horde of roughly five hundred monsters attacks, Randidly destroys most of it, but exhausted defenders cannot hold the remainder. Thirteen villagers die. Accepting responsibility for allowing the village to depend on him, Randidly announces that he will not carry the next defense. He orders Donny, Decklan, and Dozer to organize complementary units so Donnyton can survive without a single overwhelmingly strong protector.
Story so far - through chapter 41 (this book)
Randidly evolves Green Spear Mastery into Spear of Rot Mastery and develops debilitating pollen and summoned insects. Donnyton responds to his threatened absence by organizing its fighters. It survives the next horde with limited deaths, although Randidly secretly uses roots to stop monsters from spreading around the walls. The defense proves that Donny's leadership and the settlement's coordinated roles can work. Randidly escorts Cal Drake, Elaine, Vivian Plath, and Decklan to a neighboring fortified town. Its ruler, Constance, calls himself a king and uses class powers to compel and burden others. After Constance orders his guards to kill Randidly and Decklan, Randidly disables the guns, breaks the king's binding command, and severely injures him. The neighboring village spirit offers a black nexus coin in exchange for Constance's life. Randidly accepts, leaving the king alive as a future political threat. Nul says the coin can found a dungeon early.
Story so far - through chapter 47 (this book)
Donnyton expands its infrastructure, dungeon, hierarchy, and combat training under Daniel and Donny. Randidly hunts beyond the safe boundary with Decklan and Lyra, whose mana birds and short teleportation make her a capable companion. Sam turns monster remains into useful equipment. Randidly remains classless, builds plant and fire abilities, and decides the settlement is becoming less dependent on him. The next major horde includes harpies and giant condors that carry monsters over the walls. Randidly serves as artillery while Clarissa, Lyra, and Annie fight the aerial threat. On the ground, Dozer opens a route toward the Godmother Wolverine and Donny, Decklan, and their squads defeat the boss without Randidly's direct help. Ptolemy maintains healing and replacement shields. Only three villagers die in this assault. The victory demonstrates that Donnyton's senior fighters can defeat a serious boss through their own command and teamwork, even while Randidly remains its strongest individual defender.
Story so far - through chapter 57 (this book)
Completing the Entangling Roots path gives Randidly Wall of Thorns, Spearing Roots, and a Soul Seed that can grow into an intelligent plant. He then finds Ep-Tal, an intelligent Sphinx that calls itself a hungry tribulation. Ep-Tal can teleport, heal by eating, and draw on unlimited resources before the protective barrier falls. Randidly withdraws after a long first battle and prepares to kill it alone before it can reach Donnyton. In the rematch, Randidly restricts Ep-Tal's movement with embedded roots and drives it into its cave. He plants the matured soul seed inside the Sphinx, and the sprouting thorn plant helps kill it. Ep-Tal's severed tongue enters Randidly's body, forcing Regina and Dozer to remove the parasite when he reaches Donnyton. The System then reveals that Ep-Tal belonged to the neighboring village, whose barrier will fall as a result. Randidly is the world's first tribulation slayer, but Donnyton's own tribulation remains alive and missing.
Story so far - through chapter 61 (this book)
Regina's hospital convoy settles in Donnyton, adding medical and political experience. Daniel's research clarifies that accumulated stats influence class quality while trained skill types influence the resulting class. Randidly receives a spear made from Ep-Tal and learns that fragments of Rollins University appeared near Frankfurd, creating his first credible lead toward his missing friends. He nevertheless stays until Donnyton can address its own tribulation. The village survives its final protected horde and grows into an organized settlement of thousands, with Donny, Dozer, Decklan, Daniel, Regina, Sam, and other specialists taking distinct responsibilities. Weeks pass without any sign of the tribulation. Randidly's fixation strains his relationship with Lyra, who rejects being treated as a child despite her formidable mana control. Elaine advises him to focus on actions within his reach. Concluding that the hidden enemy may avoid him, Randidly plans a caravan south with Alana, Clarissa, Devin, and other fighters. The journey will pursue the Rollins lead and test whether his absence causes the tribulation to reveal itself.
Story so far - through chapter 69 (this book)
Before departing, Randidly reconciles with Lyra and leaves a second soul seed with the twins Nathan and Kirstie. In Frankfurd he separates from Alana's delegation and reunites with Tessa, his former girlfriend from Rollins. He hides his strength and takes ordinary work while searching for his missing friends. The delegation is arrested, but waits for a public opportunity to demonstrate Donnyton's power. Daniel independently upgrades Donnyton to a trainee village. The change improves future classes but intensifies hordes and raid bosses, creates a coming portal to a sister village, and strengthens the still-hidden tribulation. An unknown figure also forces the Black Tusk Wolf Raid Boss into Randidly's world. Meanwhile, Randidly survives the Patron of Ash's lava-golem trial and seizes an offered blessing sigil without yet knowing its effects. In Donnyton, the second soul seed becomes Arbor, and Kirstie accepts the role of its first priestess.
Story so far - through chapter 79 (this book)
Randidly attends Raina's concert with Tessa and discovers that the singer's System-backed performance leaves most listeners euphoric and suggestible. Raina uses the event to rally Frankfurd against a nearby ant colony. Donnyton suffers heavy casualties in a horde while Lyra and Annie hold critical breaches. Decklan and Dozer continue specialized boss and dungeon operations, and Arbor begins spreading support auras through defensive sprouts. Randidly finds only part of the Rollins dormitory and no confirmation that his missing friends are in Frankfurd. He expands his potion craft with new crystals and creates a reusable storage stone. Alana's delegation helps Frankfurd defeat the ants and negotiates trade, supplies, a local base, and recruitment access for Donnyton. Frankfurd activates its own village despite warnings that mass class acquisition will trigger a horde. Randidly completes a Fireball path and decides to use Donnyton as his long-term base for protecting settlements and gathering information. He also confronts the abusive guards around Tessa's housing, while Frankfurd prepares to give hundreds of residents their first classes.
Story so far - through chapter 84 (this book)
Alana accepts Randidly's Blessing of the South, surrendering her old class for a permanent bond and access to a specialized spear class when she returns to Donnyton. Tessa refuses to relocate north, leaving her relationship with Randidly unresolved. Frankfurd's new classes trigger a horde of nearly twenty thousand monsters. Randidly trains within the swarm while Alana's delegation supports the defenses, but coordinated white wolves use the sewers to bypass the perimeter and attack civilians. Randidly seals part of the route and hunts the Black Tusk Wolf Raid Boss. Tessa tries to spare it, blaming Randidly and the spread of the System for the crisis, but the wolf attacks her and Randidly kills it. At the stadium, acid-spitting monsters scar Raina. Wearing Randidly's embroidered mask, she deliberately turns her voice into a citywide compulsion that drives civilians into a violent defense with little regard for survival. Frankfurd endures, though its defenses, ammunition, leadership, and population are badly damaged. Tessa stays. Raina seeks to leave with the Donnyton group. Randidly completes Potion Making II, advances Spearmastery II, and turns north toward trainee-village Donnyton, whose hidden tribulation remains his immediate target.
How does it end? (ending)
Frankfurd survives its first horde, but the wolf-led sewer infiltration and the collapse of command leave the city badly damaged. Randidly kills the Black Tusk Wolf Raid Boss when it attacks Tessa. Tessa chooses to remain in Frankfurd, preserving their unresolved division over violence and the System. Raina is scarred by acid and knowingly turns her influence into a citywide call that drives civilians into a lethal frenzy. Expecting consequences, she asks to travel north with the Donnyton group. Alana secures trade and recruitment access for Donnyton and carries Randidly's permanent southern blessing, while Devin helps command the returning fighters. Donnyton itself has advanced to a trainee village and can defend itself through Donny, Daniel, Dozer, Decklan, Annie, Lyra, Sam, Regina, and the growing Arbor network. Its own tribulation remains hidden and may be influencing distant threats. Randidly completes Potion Making II, advances Spearmastery II, identifies low Resistance as his main weakness, and chooses to return north to confront that danger. His search for his missing friends remains unresolved, and Shal remains beyond the dungeon exit.
