A sturdy blue creature made from several animal shapes, with a fierce growl and a row of square teeth. He lives alone behind a fence and agrees to accompany Ojo after the boy seeks hairs from his tail for the magic cure.

A kindly wanderer who has settled in Oz since traveling there with Dorothy. Carrying the Love Magnet, he comes to the aid of Ojo's party when a giant porcupine blocks their road.

The straw man who once traveled with Dorothy and now lives as an honored friend of Ozma. Scraps immediately finds him fascinating, and he welcomes the patchwork girl and her companions.

An enormous captive whose strength makes him dangerous even inside a mountain cage. Ojo's party encounters him while traveling through a remote region of Oz.

Dorothy's old friend, made entirely of tin and careful never to harm living things. His compassion creates a serious difficulty when Ojo's cure appears to require injury to a harmless butterfly.
