Ryan (Protagonist)

Also known as Quicksave

Ryan's missing childhood friend and the reason he has come to New Rome.

Appears from the start

A dead tyrant from the Genome Wars whose machines and weapons remain in circulation. His surviving technology is dangerous enough to shape New Rome's balance of power long after his own apparent defeat.

An independent vigilante who can transform into a panda. Lanka incapacitates him during an Augusti visit to the weapons foundry.

Atom Cat (Supporting)

A Dynamis defender whose costumes grant weaker, temporary versions of the abilities associated with them.

Enrique Manada (Supporting)

An armed child living at the Rust Town shelter under the care of an unseen figure the children call Mama.

The identity used by Freddy Sabino, Len's multi-elixir father, whose past control of Len and Ryan continues to shape their relationship.

Luigi (Minor)

The Augusti truth-teller previously encountered during recruitment. His questions compel truthful answers according to their exact wording, so Ryan hospitalizes him in another iteration to keep him away from the harbor meeting.

Cancel (Antagonist)

First appears in chapter 22

A white-powered Augusti operative whose active field suppresses nearby genome abilities. Her presence prevents Ryan from stopping time and may also block his return to a save point, turning any confrontation near her into an exceptional risk.

Sparrow (Supporting)

First appears in chapter 22

Pluto's bodyguard and an Augusti operative. She helps inspect Ryan and his equipment during Pluto's interrogation, serving as part of the organization responsible for monitoring threats and enforcing its leadership's decisions.

Bacchus (Antagonist)

Also known as Andreas Tork, Father Tork

Leonard Hargraves (Supporting)

Mosquito (Antagonist)

First appears in chapter 34

The mosquito-like Meta attacker previously encountered in Rust Town. Mosquito joins Psyshock and Mongrel in the orphanage raid, where Len and Ryan mortally wound the attacker.

Mathias Martel (Supporting)

Also known as Shroud

Livia Augusti (Supporting)

An Augusti capo preparing to retire. A necromancer who acts through a preserved head and reanimated bodies, he oversees gambling, casinos, logistics, security, and money laundering.

Jamie Cutter (Supporting)

The Augusti operative previously known as Zanbato. When the old Mercury retires, Augustus accepts his nomination of Jamie as successor, placing Jamie over the organization's gambling, casino, logistics, security, and laundering interests.

Pythia (Supporting)

A seer coordinating the coalition assault on Mechron's Sarajevo fortress in 2014. She links allies telepathically without taking away their choices, and the size of her network strengthens the foresight she uses to guide the attacking force.

Geist (Supporting)

First appears in chapter 44

A yellow-powered ghost on Ischia whose name is Francois. His ectoplasmic form is bound to the island by his scattered remains and is largely beyond ordinary physical harm.

Hannifat Lecter (Antagonist)

Alphonse Manada (Supporting)

First appears in chapter 49

The Manada who takes practical control of what remains of Dynamis after the catastrophe. His succession leaves renewed conflict with the Augusti likely.
