The Silent Blade characters
Every entry below is hidden until you open it, and each names the chapter the character first appears in.
Drizzt Do'Urden (Protagonist)
Appears from the start
A dark elf ranger who has made a home with the Companions of the Hall. After helping rescue Wulfgar from Errtu, he is determined to see Crenshinibon destroyed before the artifact can enslave another bearer, while recognizing that his friend's freedom has not ended the damage of captivity.
Wulfgar (Protagonist)
Appears from the start
A barbarian warrior recently freed after six years of torment by the demon Errtu. He has Aegis-fang and the love of his old companions again, but nightmares, anger and shame make Mithral Hall feel less like the home he remembers.
Catti-brie (Supporting)
Appears from the start
Bruenor's adopted daughter, a skilled archer and Drizzt's partner. Wulfgar's return brings relief as well as a painful recognition that all three of them have changed during his absence, and she refuses to pretend those years can simply be undone.
Bruenor Battlehammer (Supporting)
Appears from the start
The dwarf king of Mithral Hall and Wulfgar's foster father. Bruenor treats the recovered barbarian as a son, but his direct affection and hopes for the old company cannot reach wounds Wulfgar is not yet able to explain.
Regis (Supporting)
Appears from the start
A halfling member of the Companions of the Hall, carrying an enchanted ruby pendant and a sharp instinct for other people's motives. He joins the journey to place the Crystal Shard beyond anyone's use.
Guenhwyvar (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 2
Drizzt's intelligent black panther companion, called from another plane through an onyx figurine. She scouts and fights beside the companions as their journey draws renewed attention from old enemies.
Artemis Entreri (Protagonist)
First appears in chapter 4
A disciplined assassin from Calimport whose long rivalry with Drizzt has supplied the purpose that ordinary killing no longer gives him. Jarlaxle calls him back to the city and offers him a path into its criminal hierarchy.
Jarlaxle (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 4
The flamboyant dark elf leader of Bregan D'aerthe, equally comfortable with mercenary force, disguise and manipulation. He regards Entreri as both a useful partner and an intriguing problem, and sees Calimport's guilds as an opportunity for surface power.
Dwahvel Tiggerwillies (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 5
A well-connected halfling in Calimport who knows Entreri from his earlier life and understands the city's guild politics. Her information and contacts help him approach the power structure without announcing Jarlaxle's hand.
Pasha Basadoni (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 9
The aging head of a major Calimport thieves' guild. Basadoni recognizes Entreri's ability and permits him into the organization, believing the assassin can strengthen the guild amid pressure from rivals.
Kimmuriel Oblodra (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 15
A psionicist of Bregan D'aerthe whose powers reach minds in ways ordinary wizardry cannot. Kimmuriel serves Jarlaxle's expanding operation and becomes important when a powerful intelligence begins calling to the mercenaries.
Cadderly Bonaduce (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 18
A priest, scholar and formidable wielder of divine magic at the Spirit Soaring. The companions seek Cadderly because he understands dangerous artifacts and may be able to destroy the Crystal Shard rather than merely hide it.
Danica Maupoissant (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 18
Cadderly's wife and an exceptionally skilled monk. She helps guard the Spirit Soaring and treats the arrival of Crenshinibon as an immediate danger to everyone in the library and temple.
