Selys (Protagonist)

A receptionist at the Adventurers' Guild in Liscor and owner of the Heartflame breastplate. Newly wealthy from the armor's use, Selys decides that investment and organization suit her better than adventuring, and she commits money to Krshia's civic campaign.

Krshia (Supporting)

Appears from the start

A Silverfang Gnoll shopkeeper seeking structural change in Liscor. Krshia proposes elected council seats, city expansion, a dungeon fee, and stronger civic services, placing Gnoll representation at the center of her campaign.

Zevara (Supporting)

Appears from the start

The Watch Captain of Liscor, responsible for an underfunded force and wary of the political risks surrounding council reform. Zevara is prepared to support elections if the change brings the Watch substantial new resources.

Ceria (Protagonist)

The Horns' openly acknowledged necromancer, capable of directing skeletal servants and using several forms of nonlethal magic. Pisces remains composed during a hostile guild confrontation and fights beside Ceria and Yvlon when it turns violent.

Yvlon Byres (Supporting)

An armored fighter in the Horns and the sole survivor of her former team. Yvlon carries deep anger and grief over accusations that she deserted her companions, and a public charge against her quickly provokes a guild brawl.

Dally (Protagonist)

Captain of the Australian Bushrangers and a leader in the United Nations Company. Dally uses contracts, traps, crossbows, and cooperation with local adventurers to protect the company and build a sustainable place for its members.

Geneva (Protagonist)

The United Nations Company's physician, whose surgical knowledge draws patients from several species. Geneva's growing clinic is essential to the company, but its success also attracts scrutiny from the power controlling their city.

An advanced Minotaur strategist student whom Niers Astoragon assigns to command a superior force in a mock battle. His direct cavalry attack meets concealed spear infantry, and Niers isolates and defeats him after using a decoy position.

Umina (Protagonist)

Tulm (Antagonist)

A Dullahan strategist, former student of Niers Astoragon, and second-in-command of the Iron Vanguard. Tulm enters the Dakin examination as its sole Seeker, bringing an elite force and an intimidating reputation against hundreds of students.

Perorn (Supporting)

First appears in chapter 8

A Centaur strategist and former student of Niers Astoragon. Perorn attends the Dakin game as an observer rather than a competitor, watching her former teacher test the current students against Tulm and the Iron Vanguard.
