Transformation

By Seth Ring

The fifth entry in Battle Mage Farmer finds John Sutton crossing into a higher-mana world through the First Mage's Door to search for Katrine, who went missing after a sealed artifact mission. Registered as a Fourth Order mage at Candle Scholar Tower, John conceals the true extent of his power while investigating who sealed Katrine's records, until a public demonstration forces the tower's masters to recognize him as Eighth Order. Learning that Katrine's mission was set up by a suspected insider and tied to the group calling itself the Cabal of the Broken Gate, John leaves the tower's protection and follows the trail through the dangerous Windstar Ruins, infiltrating a slaving operation tied to the Cabal to pose as a seller and get inside its ranks. As he closes in on Katrine, he discovers that Cabal forces have already begun moving into his home world, adding urgency to the search.
