The second volume of Unintended Cultivator follows Sen, a wandering cultivator, as a confrontation with the coercive Stormy Ocean Sect drives him from his lodging and forces him to flee south while concealing his tracks. Along the road he stops to help a stranded, negligent young wagon driver, repairing his wagon and escorting him home while fending off bandits and pushing the young man to take his responsibilities more seriously. After delivering the driver safely to his family, Sen follows an unexplained inner pull west to the impoverished Luo Farm, where he finds its daughter tending an abundance of medicinal plants and her mother gravely ill with an infected, worsening leg. Committing to a difficult, uncertain course of treatment, Sen settles in at the farm for as long as it takes to save her, still unsure why the pull led him there.
