Unintended Cultivator, Volume Five
Continuing the series, Sen's body cultivation is failing: months of searching with his Ghost Panther companion Falling Leaf for a reclusive nascent-soul cultivator who may hold the manual he needs have left him progressively weaker, and healing elixirs are losing their effect. When he collapses defending their shelter from a beast tide, he wakes to find the cultivator he has been seeking, who reveals she possesses the manual and offers it only in exchange for years of service. Sen accepts, and after months recovering under her supervision, sets out with Falling Leaf on the first task of the bargain: retrieving a rare mushroom ingredient from a distant mountain, a journey complicated by sect rivals, bandits, and other travelers along the road.
