Unintended Cultivator, Volume Seven

Continuing the series, Sen helps an injured logger's family and reunites Falling Leaf with old fox acquaintances, then unexpectedly takes responsibility for a traumatized young girl orphaned by a raid. Balancing her care with his own training, Sen begins learning shadow travel from his current teacher, the nascent-soul cultivator sheltering him, while his spider companion Glimmer of Night helps watch over the child. Tension rises when Falling Leaf leaves abruptly with an old fox ally without explanation, testing Sen's temper and his relationships with his companions before she returns and the group reconciles. When Sen brings the girl into a nearby town, a spirit-beast attack forces him to organize the townspeople's defense, further spreading his feared reputation as Judgment's Gale even as he tries to keep a low profile.
