Continuing the series, Omega Force extracts a child, Shira, from a compromised safe house before her Cridal Red Strike pursuers can use her as bait against a hidden target: Carolyn Whitney, who ends her relationship with Shira's father to keep him and Shira safe. After delivering the family to refuge, the crew turns to investigating a growing slave-trafficking network destabilizing the border regions, following leads from a broker connected to Seven's criminal past. An elaborate deception plants an apparently deactivated Lucky inside a trafficking collector's compound to steal operational data on the network's depots, while the rival Cridal Cooperative faces a worsening leadership crisis of its own. With the stolen intelligence, Omega Force commits to striking the largest identified trafficking depot.
