Warbreaker: Tenth Anniversary Edition (Part 2 of 2) (Dramatized Adaptation) characters
Every entry below is hidden until you open it, and each names the chapter the character first appears in.
Siri (Protagonist)
Appears from the start
The younger princess of Idris, unexpectedly sent to Hallandren in place of her elder sister and married to the God King. Her impulsiveness and candor have helped her move beyond the frightening public image surrounding Susebron. By the opening of this part, the two have become allies, and she is trying to understand who controls the court and whether Hallandren truly intends to attack Idris.
Susebron (Supporting)
Appears from the start
Hallandren's God King and Siri's husband, outwardly an absolute monarch but privately isolated and unable to speak. He holds an immense store of magical Breath yet has been kept uneducated and dependent on his priests. Siri has discovered that he is gentle, curious, and as constrained by palace ritual as she is.
Vivenna (Protagonist)
Appears from the start
Siri's elder sister, trained from childhood to marry the God King but left behind when their father changed his plan. She followed Siri to Hallandren and fell in with mercenaries who claimed to support her campaign against the city. Their manipulation has stripped away her certainty about her purpose and her own moral judgment.
Vasher (Supporting)
Appears from the start
A grim, exceptionally skilled Awakener who moves through Hallandren with the sentient sword Nightblood. He has opposed Denth's operation and intervened in Vivenna's affairs for reasons he reveals only reluctantly. His rough appearance conceals unusually deep knowledge of Breath, Lifeless soldiers, and the history behind the Manywar.
Nightblood (Supporting)
Appears from the start
A black sword with a cheerful mental voice and a command to destroy evil, though it has little understanding of what evil is. Drawing it overwhelms nearby people with violent temptation and consumes Breath from its wielder. Vasher normally keeps it sheathed and treats it as both a dangerous weapon and an exasperating companion.
Lightsong the Bold (Protagonist)
Appears from the start
A Returned god of bravery who doubts his own divinity and treats court politics with studied indifference. He has nevertheless begun investigating suspicious deaths and the growing pressure for war. His visions and instinctive skills suggest that the official account of his former life is incomplete.
Blushweaver (Supporting)
Appears from the start
A politically ambitious Returned goddess who presses the Court of Gods to prepare for war with Idris. Intelligent, poised, and skilled at gathering influence, she cultivates Lightsong's friendship while trying to secure control of his Lifeless battalions.
Denth (Supporting)
Appears from the start
A charismatic mercenary and master swordsman who has served as Vivenna's guide in Hallandren. He presents himself as cynical but dependable, using humor and practical advice to win trust while directing the princess's supposed resistance campaign.
Tonk Fah (Supporting)
Appears from the start
Denth's large, apparently easygoing associate. He jokes about mercenary work, keeps unusual pets, and handles the less visible parts of the group's operations. His relaxed manner does not make him any less capable or dangerous.
Bluefingers (Supporting)
Appears from the start
A Pahn Kahl scribe in the God King's palace who communicates with Siri through notes and furtive conversations. As a member of a people conquered by Hallandren, he fears both the priests and the prospect of war, and offers Siri secret help navigating the palace.
Treledees (Supporting)
Appears from the start
The high priest responsible for the God King's household and the public rituals surrounding him. Severe and protective of palace secrets, he regards Siri as a potential danger to an institution he has spent his life preserving.
Llarimar (Supporting)
Appears from the start
Lightsong's high priest and closest attendant. Patient, loyal, and far more grounded than the god he serves, he manages the practical demands of Lightsong's court and endures his master's doubts without abandoning him.
Jewels (Minor)
Appears from the start
A quiet member of Denth's mercenary band whose body has been made into a Lifeless. She obeys commands with eerie precision and remains an accomplished fighter. Her condition gives Vivenna an early, unsettling lesson in how casually the group treats death.
