Way to the North

Continuing the series, Hadjar's party is detained by the Twilight Secret Sect after a violent confrontation with the rival Raven Sect, whose emissary tries to recruit him with promises of hidden knowledge about his origins. As a Raven Sect army besieges the sect's mountain stronghold, sect politics force Hadjar to win a formal duel before he is permitted to command the defense, and Abraham's own troubled history within the sect is exposed along the way. Hadjar organizes makeshift fortifications and a wary alliance with the sect's protective mountain spirit, but the enemy's arsenal - including cannons capable of destroying the stronghold outright - forces him to plan a desperate strike against the artillery through a dangerous, unstable rift in time itself.
