Annabeth Chase (Supporting)

A demigod daughter of Athena and Percy's clever, capable girlfriend, who shares his goal of reaching New Rome University. Resourceful and level-headed, she partners with him again on the job he takes for a god.

Grover Underwood (Supporting)

Appears from the start

A satyr and Percy's steadfast friend, prone to worry but brave in a crisis. He joins Percy and Annabeth to help with the strange duties they have taken on.

Sally Jackson (Minor)

Percy's warm and supportive mother, a writer who has stood by her son through years of danger and keeps a loving home for him.

Hecate (Supporting)

Appears from the start

The goddess of magic, crossroads, and the night, often called the triple goddess for her three aspects. Powerful and not to be crossed, she engages Percy and his friends for a task and makes plain that failure will earn her anger, giving the job its high stakes.

Gale (Minor)

Appears from the start

A polecat belonging to Hecate, one of the goddess's peculiar magical creatures. Small, quick, and temperamental, the animal is among the charges left in Percy's care.
