A powerful surviving Matron of elemental fire captured with suspected conspirators. She claims that paladins compelled her cooperation and invokes a recognized right to plead before Felix. Ordinary restraints suppress her active power without making her harmless.
The armored Unbound

A heavily armored Earth-born Unbound glimpsed through a divine connection. She travels with an elderly Pathless priest and uses overwhelming spiritual pressure while forcing entry into a dwarven settlement.
Imara (Antagonist)

The armored Unbound previously seen with a Pathless priest. She is operating under Hierocracy control and reaches another Earth-born Unbound during Felix and Zara's locating ritual. Her ability to sense Felix through the ritual makes the distant encounter dangerous.
Knight Tanda (Minor)
First appears in chapter 40
An orc patrol knight serving the flooded settlement of Bogfeld. Tanda encounters Felix under his Silas Vale disguise and brings him aboard a patrol boat for protection. She continues field duty despite the settlement's losses and constant monster pressure.
The Gallant mage (Minor)

An unnamed half-elf mage who accompanies Knight Tanda on patrol through flooded Bogfeld as a member of the Gallant society.
Etriska Lavin (Supporting)

The Knight Commander responsible for Bogfeld Redoubt. Local survivors credit her and the Menders with preserving lives after the flood and continuing monster attacks. She directs the remaining patrols and defenses from the settlement's fortified refuge.

Beef's nascent spirit, separated from his body and mind by his Unbound nature. She takes a female face and asks Felix to destroy her if that is necessary to protect Beef's damaged core, but he refuses.

An ancient force that confronts Beef within his core and identifies itself as a child of a Cardinal Beast. It claims that its former purpose was to break down and erode what it touched.
The Dusk Dragon (Antagonist)

The immense ooze-covered dragon revealed as the power called the Fathom. It awakens before Felix's captive party at the center of Chasma, and its pressure and presence distort perception.
