Blood of the Lost

By J.D. Franx

Continuing the story from the previous book, Kael wakes from a shipwreck convinced that his wife Ember and his friend Max died in an interdimensional crossing, until a dream-vision from Ember suggests they may still be alive as captives in the Wildlands. In a separate thread, Ella the White, a powerful and feared witch, intercepts the young assassin Desiree after her own guild brands her a traitor and begins training her for an eventual move against its leadership. Elsewhere in the Wildlands, a royal search party carrying Ember and Max is ambushed and its members sold into slavery, while Kael, still recovering from his own recent captivity, sets out to learn whether Ember's vision was real.
