Eskau

By J.L. Mullins

The seventh entry in the Millennial Mage series continues Tala's story after she is captured and mind-altered by Be-thric, a prospective Pillar of the House of Blood who intends to use her as a living weapon. Waking with fragmented memories and a fabricated captive persona in place, Tala works secretly with an alternate mental aspect to restore her true self while a lethal collar and controlling script threaten to kill her if she resists too openly. To survive she must maintain the false persona convincingly, win a lethal, unrestricted contest between rival Eskau candidates to secure Be-thric's rise to Pillar and her own tenuous standing, and quietly build the skills, allies, and resources that might one day let her escape the House of Blood.
