A prospective House of Blood pillar and Tala's master. He maintains her memory support and bodily control inscriptions, equips her for the coming candidate contest, and treats her success as essential to his advancement.

A House of Blood authority who hosts the candidate feast and explains that the contest will choose a new pillar for a southern-shore hold. He will retain authority over the winner during the initial period in Platoiri.

City Lord of Platoiri (Supporting)

The immensely powerful ruler of Platoiri, who recognizes Tala as a gated human despite her concealment. He tests whether she will obey a lethal order without evidence and treats her service as an opportunity to evaluate her.

White-metal Final Defender (Antagonist)

A speaking white-metal automaton that guards the hold core. It deflects Tala's attacks while defending the chamber and offers to negotiate with her.

Croi Elven Eskau (Supporting)

A blue-ranked elven Eskau who receives Be-thric's party at the House of Blood hold in Croi. She is a highly controlled senior figure serving a powerful pillar and acts as the party's host.

Exiled Dragonling Former Eskau (Minor)

A dragonling stripped of his Eskau status and advancement weapon after failing to protect his prospective pillar. His exile requires him to travel with Be-thric's party to Platoiri and permanently bars him from cities where his former House is present.

Dayarg (Minor)

A long-lived House of Blood Eskau whose concept governs stability in balance, reactions, group cohesion, and resistance to harm. He tests Tala's grounding and exposes weaknesses in her physical foundation.

Raid (Minor)

A House of Blood fighter more than a full advancement step above Tala. During their sparring, he limits his overwhelming advantages so that the exchange tests her martial skill rather than raw power.

Iron-consuming creature (Antagonist)

A creature released by Tala's activated collar. It claims the iron throughout her body, corrupts the inscriptions built from that metal, and leaves her with only a fragile Archon Star stalemate against its advance.

Gold-consuming Creature (Minor)

First appears in chapter 57

A collar-released entity that devours Tala's keystone. Once it has fed, it emerges from her and falls inactive, unlike the iron eater that stays within her.

Doskanok (Antagonist)

First appears in chapter 64

The name Tala uses for the creature occupying her bodily iron. It is not bound to her soul, and she hopes human teleportation can remove it before her forming Archon Star is completed.

Sentient Orb (Supporting)

A sentient orb carried by Thron into the broken realm. It reacts with alarm to the disorienting environment around them.

House of Blood Avenging Eskau

An unnamed House of Blood Eskau grieving Be-thric’s death. She destroys the local Acidic Tide hold, confronts Platoiri’s city lord, and begins an assault on the House of the Rising Sun hold.

The Hallowed, dragonling-featured leader of a mobile settlement. He judges Tala's Doskanok affliction to be a living conceptual curse. Unable to extract it himself, he discusses teleportation risks and directs her toward short passages through the Leshkin Forest.

A powerful Leshkin who confronts Tala at the forest's edge. Alongside Inevitability, Decay demands the return of the forest's strength and warns Tala of pursuit in a future war.
