In short (whole book)

Stranded in the Fae system with Selena and Samvek, Silas Renner follows the trail of manufactured magic to Tad, a hidden prince of the Summer and Void courts. Their alliance awakens local defenders, creates two powerful multisystem golems, and challenges the Order's control of Basetown. Silas also transforms Samvek into his first architect-linked Horseman, gains Urg's permanent presence across system barriers, and refuses a binding offer from the Ways before earning a looser alliance through a deadly solo dungeon trial. The Order takes Basetown's non-humans hostage, drawing the coalition into battle. Alana helps occupy the Order arbiter while Tad survives a separate abduction. Silas stabilizes the critically wounded Lexa, and Urg kills the arbiter after Silas strips away its protection. Decimus kills Tad's captor but becomes a new threat and dies, leaving Samvek contaminated by demonic Vitae. With Basetown liberated but damaged, Silas leaves with Samvek and Azuria to answer Ryan's cross-void distress call.

Previously, in earlier books (earlier books)

Previously: Silas is a powerful Heavens-system Trailblazer whose closest allies include his partner Selena, his mentor and companion Samvek, and Urg, his bonded Eidolon. Samvek is also bonded to the dragon Azuria. He regards Ryan, now in the distant Divided Realms, as his blood brother. Silas, Selena, and Samvek remain a committed group, while Urg, Azuria, Ryan, and other allies have their own bonds and obligations across distant realms.

Story so far - through chapter 8 (this book)

Silas, Selena, and Samvek arrive in a mana-rich port city governed by the unfamiliar Fae system. Their abilities still work, but they have no known route home, Samvek cannot teleport without a familiar destination, and Silas cannot summon Urg. Selena disguises the group as human while they establish themselves in Basetown. Silas confines their first attackers rather than killing them, then uses his aura to secure cooperation from local authorities. The group rents rooms, exchanges gems for currency, and learns that Basetown depends on the Endless Dungeon. Manufactured magical conveniences bear the mark of Tad's Magical Inventory, and their unusual spiritual traces lead Silas to a system-mediator quest to find Tad. The Order, which enforces the Lawgiver's rule, is gathering unusual strength in town and restricts information about local history. Seeking both Tad and dungeon access, the outsiders register with the Adventurers Guild. After demonstrating overwhelming speed, spatial movement, and force control, they persuade the guildmaster to authorize an assessment on the dungeon's ninetieth floor.

Story so far - through chapter 18 (this book)

The guildmaster Clay guides Silas Renner, Selena, and Samvek into the Endless Dungeon, where their easy victory on floor 90 confirms that they greatly exceed local expectations. They help Clay achieve the solo victory needed for Grandmaster rank, then carry him to level 150 under a quest from the aware dungeon. The rewards include specialized artifacts and an expiring introduction to Tad. Silas's temporal reward also triggers visions: messages from Fae royalty and a future in which Ryan calls for help from the Divided Realms. The party meets Tad aboard his living ship. Tad is a magical creator and a prince with authority in both the Summer and Void courts, as well as connections to the Ways and the Endless Dungeon. He explains that awakening grants power through a lasting allegiance. Clay knowingly accepts that bond and becomes Tad's awakened Blade of the Prince. Tad and Silas agree to cooperate on training allies, crafting, golems, and an eventual Infinity Key that may help bridge worlds. Their alliance also offers a possible path toward Ryan, while the Order's growing presence makes local conflict increasingly likely.

Story so far - through chapter 27 (this book)

Tad's hostility toward the Order is rooted in a world where the Lawgiver's soul-bound agents inherited control after an ancient war. Silas's group commits to helping Tad investigate that rule while no route home exists. Selena forces Silas to confront the unexplained erasure of his trauma, apparently performed by a power hidden even from the Heavens. Samvek then changes Silas's training from simple instruction to a test of neglected abilities. Silas develops Psy constructs and studies his uneasy Soulforger powers by attempting to strengthen Samvek's soul. The experiment becomes dangerous when Samvek's enhanced soul and body fall out of balance. Silas stabilizes him by using architect authority, blood, Vitae, and Sai to create a shared lineage bond. The Heavens accepts the new principle, granting Samvek a legendary-equivalent Bloodhunter path and naming him Silas's first Horseman. The new bond is stable, but its powers and consequences are still settling.

Story so far - through chapter 38 (this book)

Silas and Samvek defeat most of the Order team that ambushes them, but an inquisitor escapes to bring reinforcements. Tad proposes turning his dungeon core into a defensible base where the allies can level and awaken supporters. Selena, Samvek, and Silas feed foreign mana into the core, and Silas adds primordial energy at great personal risk. The result is Trailblazer's Choice, a five-floor primordial dungeon linked to Tad, Silas, Spot, and the Ways. The Ways offer Silas a binding role as their herald, but he delays any decision until he understands the cost. A mixed party enters the dungeon before its existence becomes known. Silas protects Tad's weaker allies as they advance through primal creatures, then the group faces a behemoth far beyond the nominal challenge. Conventional restraint and damage fail. Silas enters its body in spirit form and sabotages its core and regeneration from within, allowing Selena, Samvek, Lexa, and the others to finish it. The exceptional reward chest shifts to Ascendant-tier prizes, including awakening potions, golem control discs, potent weapons, and permanent advancement resources.

Story so far - through chapter 50 (this book)

Tad uses the dungeon rewards to awaken willing followers, including Farah, Oliver, and several elves. Their bonds preserve consent while giving his resistance enough strength to oppose the Order. Silas negotiates with the Void Court queen for temporary insight into Fae-system rules and accepts a quest to clear the Order from Basetown. Tad's dual-court authority then helps Silas overcome the system's refusal to admit Urg. Silas evolves their bond so Urg can remain in a pocket dimension and can no longer be separated from him by system barriers. Silas and Tad combine structured runes, Fae enchantment, an iron body, and cooperating sprites to create a golem. Dungeon tests expose weaknesses to concentrated Order light, so they add a reflective surface, self-repair, resistance, judgment rejection, and Void Flame. Their multisystem work upgrades the construct into a Mercury Mirror Golem with exceptional endurance and gives both creators new advancement. The successful design establishes a powerful anti-Order weapon and a broader path for collaboration between their systems.

Story so far - through chapter 57 (this book)

A temporal vision shows Basetown devastated and Samvek fighting an Order Ascendant with Azuria. The coalition prepares for that threat with two golems, awakened allies, and a plan to use Tad's imprisoned demon Decimus under strict limits. Samvek's Hunger reacts violently to the demon, but Silas restores his control. Decimus accepts a bargain to fight the Ascendant for one hour and then leave Earth, with Urg holding the binding scepter. Silas and Tad modify the soul-anchored restraints so only Silas can authorize the temporary release. Silas next creates an accelerated training pocket for Tad and Samvek, but a disturbance draws him into the Order headquarters. His extended stealth reveals that the Order is enclosing Basetown as a trap. A light seer exposes him, and Silas fights through a mana-siphoning chamber using Psy, bodily power, and precognition. The Order's Ascendant arbiter captures him and identifies him as an outsider from the Heavens. Silas burns deep reserves to escape and portals into the Endless Dungeon rather than lead the arbiter back to his allies.

Story so far - through chapter 68 (this book)

The Ways demand that Silas prove himself alone on floor 397, the Hall of Nightmares. He rejects permanent service as their herald and proposes an alliance based on planting Ways seeds across systems. The floor subjects him to fog, undead, curses, false captives, and prolonged attrition. He rescues an elf and Violet, a human artificer using a gnome avatar from another integrated Earth, while suspecting that both may be part of the trial. A dungeon-made lich forces Silas to abandon preset spells and learn direct mana manipulation. After a short respite, a death knight traps the group in an anti-magic field and orders Silas to protect both companions for one minute. Silas discovers that Psy, cultivation, and Vitae still function without mana, and he survives the test. The elf confirms that she is only a memory and asks to be released, so Silas ends her existence and completes the floor. He receives Blood of the Herald and touches an unexplained state called Unity. Violet appears to be a living traveler rather than another preserved dungeon memory.

Story so far - through chapter 76 (this book)

Silas accepts a system-mediated Ways upgrade that lets him plant limited seeds connecting worlds, then leaves the dungeon with Violet. Azuria arrives in humanoid form, stronger than before, and rejoins Samvek. The Order takes Basetown's non-humans hostage and threatens executions unless Tad surrenders. Because the arbiter commands more than a hundred legendary fighters, Silas and Selena seek Tad's aunt Alana, an Ascendant Summer Court princess. After testing them in battle, she agrees to help and occupies the arbiter while Silas's coalition eliminates the remaining Order forces. A void fey separately captures Tad and critically damages Lexa's core. Tad breaks free, Decimus kills the captor, and Silas plants a Ways seed in Lexa to halt her decline. The returning arbiter nearly defeats the coalition and disables both golems, but Urg disrupts its control. Silas makes the arbiter temporarily mortal, allowing Urg to kill it. Decimus becomes dangerous after consuming the void fey, so the group kills him; Samvek's Hunger absorbs the demon's chaotic Vitae and leaves him incapacitated. Silas wakes Samvek, restores many dead and wounded residents, and confirms Lexa has begun a slow recovery. Basetown is free but devastated. Tad remains with the local allies as his father waits and the Lawgiver remains a future threat. Ryan's cross-void distress call takes priority, and Silas prepares to depart with Samvek and Azuria for the Divided Realms.

How does it end? (ending)

Silas's coalition destroys the Order force occupying Basetown. Alana keeps the Ascendant arbiter engaged while the allies eliminate the remaining Order members, but a void fey captures Tad and critically damages Lexa. Tad escapes, Decimus kills the captor, and Silas plants a seed of the Ways in Lexa's core to stabilize her. Urg disrupts the returning arbiter's control, Silas makes the arbiter temporarily mortal, and Urg kills him. Decimus then becomes too dangerous after consuming the void fey, so the coalition kills the demon. Samvek absorbs Decimus's chaotic Vitae and is left unconscious, though Silas later wakes him. Silas restores many fallen adventurers and civilians, but Basetown still needs extensive reconstruction. Lexa begins a slow, altered recovery. Tad stays with Selena, Clay, Farah, Oliver, Spot, Violet, and the other Fae-system allies while Tad's father waits nearby and the Lawgiver remains a future threat. Ryan's distress call leads Silas to depart for the Divided Realms with Samvek and Azuria.
