Inflame

By Dakota Krout

The sixth book in The Completionist Chronicles finds Joe trapped in a hostile border zone between elves and dwarves, unable to withstand its magical environment until he breaks past his species' ordinary limits and is forced to choose a side in their long war. He joins the dwarves and is swept into military training, eventually becoming an officer candidate under a demanding quest to prove his value to Dwarvenkind or be demoted. Guided by an unconventional magical mentor, Joe discovers Reductionist, a rare crafting path that lets him break objects down into raw magical components and rebuild them into new tools and rituals, and begins using it to offset his lack of standing among the dwarves. Between brutal training exercises and political maneuvering within the military, Joe works to carve out a place for himself in a society that still treats him as an outsider.
