Back home, Rezkin's political and personal life grows more complicated: he knights a companion, courts new alliances, and survives an assassination attempt from a figure who claims a hidden connection to his own past and training. The encounter forces Rezkin to confront long-buried questions about his origins even as he works to secure his fledgling kingdom's future.
