Legends of Ahn
By Kel Kade
The third King's Dark Tidings novel follows Rezkin as he tries to secure a safe haven for over a hundred refugees fleeing his fallen homeland, using a false identity to smuggle their ship into a foreign capital undetected. Along the way he encounters a shapeshifting forest spirit who strikes a bargain for future protection and leads him toward a hidden island city that could become the refugees' new home. In the capital, Rezkin manipulates council politics under his secret persona as Dark Tidings, working to secure formal recognition of the refuge as an independent kingdom, even as his closest companions grow wary of the secrets and violence surrounding him. When Rezkin uncovers a palace assassination plot against a young princess, he intervenes to save her, drawing him into a dangerous confrontation that complicates his plans for the refugees' future.
