Ryun Nacht (Protagonist)

Ryun is Zach's lifelong friend and one of five companions caught in Earth's integration into the Framework. He wagers his life to obtain the rare Path of the Final End, then wakes beside Zach in a transformed wilderness where monsters have already begun to hunt.

Zach (Protagonist)

Appears from the start

Zach is Ryun's lifelong friend and a member of the camping group separated by Earth's transformation. He begins as an uncommon Swordsman, wants to locate their missing companions, and is disturbed by how eagerly Ryun embraces the Framework's opportunities.

Melody (Supporting)

Appears from the start

Melody is a member of the camping group that includes Ryun, Zach, Linda, and Henry. She is separated from Ryun and Zach when the Framework transforms Earth and leaves the friends scattered in an unfamiliar wilderness.

Linda (Supporting)

Appears from the start

Linda is part of the camping group caught in Earth's integration into the Framework. Zach is romantically interested in her, and finding Linda and the other missing companions becomes his immediate goal after he awakens with Ryun.

Henry (Minor)

Appears from the start

Henry has inserted himself into the camping trip taken by Ryun, Zach, Linda, and Melody. Like Linda and Melody, he is separated from Ryun and Zach when the Framework transforms Earth and the group is scattered.

The Dealmaker is a concealed representative of the Framework who exchanges paths, classes, items, and information for essence or other binding consideration. Ryun first meets the broker while choosing how to develop his new power.

Zacharia Gardner (Protagonist)

Zacharia Gardner is the full identity of Ryun's friend Zach. An uncommon Swordsman, he makes the world's first confirmed monster kill, gains the First Kill reward, and invests it in rapid early advancement.

Ereclaw (Supporting)

First appears in chapter 9

Ereclaw is an elite dire-wolf alpha in the Twilight Woods. He appears unusually intelligent, studies Ryun during their encounter, and withdraws his pack instead of forcing a fight whose outcome is uncertain.

Fier

First appears in chapter 9

Fier is the Black Viper young master attached to the sect's effort to claim the Twilight Woods. He is known as a powerful classer and Lord whose position protects the expedition building a new settlement.

Anrosh (Supporting)

First appears in chapter 12

Anrosh is Kri's mother, a descendant of fourth-iteration Earth, and the widow of a Black Viper warrior. Her late husband's debt leaves both mother and daughter under sect control, and she flees when Fier seeks to claim her as a slave.

Kri (Supporting)

First appears in chapter 12

Kri is Anrosh's young daughter. She escapes Black Viper with her mother and camps in the mountains under the protection of a powerful stranger whose abilities and intentions neither of them yet understands.

Jishh (Supporting)

First appears in chapter 27

Jishh is a surviving Black Viper commander left exposed after Fier's death. Speaking for the remaining expedition members, he asks Ryun for mercy and offers their service in exchange for protection from the sect.

Gris (Supporting)

First appears in chapter 29

Gris is a drake Warden affiliated with the Adventurers Guild in Port Helios. After seeing Zach help capture a murderer, he invites Zach to discuss what comes next.

Enka (Supporting)

First appears in chapter 33

Enka is a human spear fighter and former Black Viper subcommander in the stranded Twilight Woods expedition. She joins the settlement's leadership in discussing Ryun's conditional offer of protection and instruction.

Ereclaw Nacht (Supporting)

Also known as Ereclaw

First appears in chapter 40

Ereclaw Nacht is the former dire-wolf alpha after a blood contract transforms him into a humanoid wolf and gives him Ryun's surname. He becomes Ryun's blood-contracted partner in a pact linking the forest pack and the settlement.

Shadow Princess

First appears in chapter 47

Shadow Princess is Ryun's awakened sword. After he permanently bonds the weapon, her conscious voice speaks to him through their mental connection.

Kagehime

Also known as Shadow Princess

Kagehime is the name Ryun gives the sentient awakened sword previously called Shadow Princess. Their soul bond strengthens his connection to shadow and allows them to communicate even while she is not physically manifested.

Reyla (Supporting)

First appears in chapter 56

Reyla is a powerful operative searching for her missing twin. When she finds Nayra and her team sealed and held by two probable Wardens, she chooses a rescue designed to prevent interrogation without provoking a larger lethal conflict.

Nayra (Supporting)

First appears in chapter 56

Nayra is Reyla's twin and a fellow covert operative. Her long-distance mental link with her sister goes silent after she and her team are captured and sealed during an operation involving stolen mining materials.

Reyla Ornn (Supporting)

Also known as Reyla

First appears in chapter 57

Reyla Ornn is Nayra's twin and a level-90 Twin Flame Valkyrie. She favors offense, has greater power than her sister, and fights two Wardens as a diversion while her camouflaged partner frees the captives.

the forest fortress guardian (Antagonist)

First appears in chapter 58

The forest fortress guardian is a speaking, bark-bodied monster that protects the first anchoring crystal. It is hostile to the chosen challengers and condemns Ereclaw's bond with Ryun.

Anrosh Kesh (Supporting)

Also known as Anrosh

First appears in chapter 70

Anrosh Kesh is Ryun's chosen trainee, friend, and town administrator. After managing the settlement in his place, she accepts his support, advances to the Lord Realm on the Path of the Sword, and agrees to keep governing while preparing to fight beside him.

the Yeti King (Antagonist)

First appears in chapter 72

Bound to its post by the Framework, the sentient Yeti King watches over the second anchoring crystal. Although it desires release, it cannot yield the crystal or let the challengers pass without battle.

the Molten King (Antagonist)

First appears in chapter 75

The Molten King is a sentient ruler stationed at the final anchoring crystal by the Framework. It rejects Ryun's proposal to stand down because the obligation safeguards something important to it, and the two sides begin their decisive fight.

Jen (Minor)

First appears in chapter 79

Jen is Wolf's Grove's building planner. Ryun gives her controlled access to the new town interface and territory map so she can plan housing, workshops, defenses, and other construction for the capital.

the Warden Commander (Supporting)

First appears in chapter 82

The Warden Commander leads the Wardens and is considered one of the most powerful high rankers in the Infinite Realm. The commander summons Zach for an assessment before he can become a full Warden.

the ruler of the Empty Sky

First appears in chapter 84

The ruler of the Empty Sky is a blind, badly burned cultivator held in a collar at the Black Viper estate. She claims a title associated with a historic high-ranker, but her identity has not yet been confirmed.

Eerv (Antagonist)

First appears in chapter 85

Eerv is the peak-Monarch head of the Black Viper sect. He recognizes the leverage provided by a covert operation in his territory and demands increased payment. The sect's missing expedition was led by his nephew.

Eerv Ji Van (Supporting)

Also known as Eerv

First appears in chapter 103

Eerv Ji Van is the Black Viper sect head after he offers Ryun the sect's surrender. A Dealmaker-enforced contract binds him and the sect to fifty years of service, while his own ambitions remain part of the bargain.
