After Earth is absorbed into the Framework, childhood friends Ryun and Zach take sharply different paths through ten years of survival. In the Infinite Realm, Zach becomes a Warden and seeks a lawful way to stop Ryun, whom he knows as the destroyer of their old world. Ryun arrives sealed, rescues Anrosh and Kri from Black Viper, kills Fier, claims Wolf's Grove, bonds with Ereclaw, and leads the town through a deadly territorial trial. His restored memories reveal that Melody was his partner and the other half of their true-death power, and that her death preceded his catastrophic retaliation. Black Viper captures and blinds Ryun, but he escapes. Eerv Ji Van then surrenders the sect under a fifty-year contract. Ryun renames it the Twilight Melody Sect, places Anrosh in charge, begins studying under the freed ruler of the Empty Sky, and clears a valuable dungeon with Anrosh and Eerv as a major monster swarm approaches.

Earth is abruptly integrated into the Framework, which gives humanity ten years to produce enough survivors for transfer to the Infinite Realm. Ryun and Zach, lifelong friends on a camping trip, awaken in a monster-filled wilderness. Ryun has wagered his life to obtain the rare Path of the Final End, while Zach begins as an uncommon Swordsman and earns a major reward for the world's first monster kill. They find Linda and Melody fighting for their lives, but Henry has already been killed. The four survivors shelter together and begin learning how classes, cultivation, skills, and essence work. Ten years later, Zach awakens alone on a beach in the Infinite Realm after Earth's final battle. He believes his sealing strike hit the world-ending enemy but does not know whether it worked. Now a powerful Blademaster and lightning cultivator, he rescues three local adventurers and seeks information, civilization, and evidence that his target also survived.

Zach learns from the rescued adventurers that his solitary arrival is abnormal and agrees to help them advance in exchange for guidance. He plans to reach Port Helios and use the Adventurers Guild to travel and search for his enemy. Elsewhere, Ryun also reaches the Infinite Realm alone, but his class and cultivation are trapped behind a crystal-like seal. In the Twilight Woods he encounters Ereclaw, an intelligent dire-wolf alpha, and follows a Black Viper expedition building a settlement. When Anrosh and her daughter Kri flee the camp, Ryun follows and kills their pursuers. Anrosh explains that Fier, the sect's young master, is using her dead husband's debt to enslave her. Ryun identifies himself to the pair and learns more about the local sect system. Ereclaw warns that a much larger Black Viper force is approaching. Although escape remains possible, Ryun decides that his bargain obliges him to protect Anrosh and Kri, and he prepares to face the hunters.

The earlier Earth story shows Ryun, Zach, Linda, and Melody learning to hunt and advance while their priorities diverge. Zach values safety and rescue, whereas Ryun and Melody increasingly favor strength and independence. In the present, Ryun discovers that Zach's Legendary Sealing Slash caused his condition and that the seal can be removed. Fier corners Anrosh and Kri with roughly fifty Black Viper warriors. Ryun intervenes and initially overwhelms them despite his sealed powers, but unfamiliar poison chi brings him down. While captive, he forces Cut to evolve into Perfect Cut, shatters the seal, defeats the remaining warriors, and kills Fier. Ryun consumes the essence taken from Fier and regains substantial power, while Anrosh and Kri survive the confrontation.

Ryun hesitates to lead Fier's former followers, then offers protection and instruction in return for the local knowledge he lacks. Ereclaw argues that killing Fier made Ryun responsible for those left behind and proposes a pact between the forest pack and the settlement. Zach, meanwhile, reaches Port Helios, helps capture a murderer, and meets the drake Warden Gris. He joins Gris as a trainee because Warden work offers travel, information, and a structured route to pursue Ryun, though Gris warns that personal vengeance is not lawful authority. The Earth timeline shows the four friends defeating a great monster and saving other survivors, gaining a town stone in the process. Their victory leaves eleven rescued people alive and strengthens both Ryun and Zach, but it also brings new leadership burdens. By the end of this stretch, Zach has entered Warden service in the present, Ryun has made a conditional commitment to the Twilight Woods settlers, and the past survivors have taken their first step toward building a larger community.

Zach and Gris uncover evidence that organized outsiders are training escaped miners to disrupt frontier expansion. Zach nearly dies fighting their well-equipped backers, survives through his Second Chance perk, and helps Gris secure three prisoners for questioning. In the Twilight Woods, Ryun accepts responsibility for the settlement and seeks a dependable second cultivation path. He forms a blood contract with Ereclaw, transforming the dire-wolf alpha into the humanoid Ereclaw Nacht and establishing cooperation between wolves and townspeople. Anrosh administers the town while Ryun supplies protection and prepares its defenders for the town stone's unknown trial. He also discovers that he never completed the bond with his awakened sword, Shadow Princess. After permanently binding her to his soul, he can hear her sentient voice and summon her physical form. Ryun names the sword Kagehime and gains additional benefits from their bond. With the settlement prepared and its alliances in place, he is ready to activate the town stone.

The town stone transports Ryun's settlement into a trial spanning forest, frozen, and volcanic territories. Each region contains a fortress and an anchoring crystal, while increasingly frequent monster waves attack the town. Ryun takes Ereclaw, Jishh, and Enka into the forest, improves the two warriors' cultivation foundations, and helps them evolve into rare classes. At the fortress, Ryun and Ereclaw face a sentient leshy guardian far stronger than the earlier monsters. They eventually kill it and secure the first crystal. The victory also revives part of Ryun's memory of destroying New Dallas after its inhabitants rejected his demand to leave claimed land. Elsewhere, Reyla's rescue of Nayra and the other prisoners reveals that the frontier raiders belong to a wider covert organization. Zach and Gris survive the clash but cannot identify the group behind it. Ryun returns from the first fortress knowing that two equally dangerous territories remain and that the trial's former challengers likely died against guardians of this level.

Past chapters show Safehold joining the United Government while Ryun and Melody choose to leave rather than submit to settlement expectations. In the present, Reyla and Nayra are punished for exposing their covert frontier operation and reassigned to Black Viper territory. Ryun uses the dead forest guardian and his own unusual power as sources for a tier-five Aspect of the Void. He adopts it and adds the Path of the Unbreakable Wall as a second cultivation path. Experimentation turns its fixed defensive walls into shaped constructs, including aerial footholds that allow rapid changes of direction above the ground. Further advancement improves both his void armor and his control of constructed chi. These additions answer weaknesses in mobility and defense before the remaining fortresses. The town is still trapped in the trial, its defenders face increasingly frequent raids, and two anchoring crystals remain to be claimed. Ryun finishes testing his new power with Ereclaw and prepares to resume the hunt.

Ryun recognizes Anrosh as the person actually running his town, supports her advancement to the Lord Realm, and asks her to remain his administrator and future combat partner. Ryun, Anrosh, and Ereclaw then defeat the sentient Yeti King and obtain the second anchoring crystal. The fight teaches Ryun about Monarch-level aspect manifestation and disturbs the wall blocking his memories. In the volcanic territory, the presence behind that wall briefly seizes his body during the battle with the Molten King. Ryun regains control, kills the boss, and completes the three-territory trial. He advances to Monarch, installs all three crystals, claims the Twilight Woods, and founds Wolf's Grove with Anrosh as his second-in-command. The Dealmaker explains that Ryun requested the mental barrier to contain a corrupted perk and its associated memories. A past chapter reveals more of that history: Ryun and Melody inherited linked true-death powers, becoming the Reaper and Huntress halves of a paired legacy.

Zach and Gris reach Emeros and the Citadel of the Wardens. During a truth-enforced interview, Zach reveals that Ryun destroyed Earth's remaining society. Thousands of survivors gave their lives to empower a final group, but the attempt to seal Ryun failed and only Zach reached the Infinite Realm through the expected transfer. The Warden Commander accepts Zach but makes clear that the organization enforces territorial law and will not serve as an instrument of revenge. Zach joins anyway, choosing structured training and lawful authority. In Black Viper territory, Reyla and Nayra begin their punitive assignment under a mercenary cover. They discover a blind, burned, enslaved cultivator who claims to be the historic ruler of the Empty Sky. Reyla then meets Eerv, the sect head, who uses his knowledge of the covert arrangement to demand increased payment. The twins reconcile after Nayra accepts responsibility for her failures. Zach is now a Warden, but any future action against Ryun must be justified by enforceable law.

Wolf's Grove openly declares independence when a Black Viper force arrives to investigate Fier's death. Anrosh defeats its commander, and Ryun sends the group home with both a trade offer and a warning. He raises Anrosh to Mid Lord and helps her replace her harmful poison aspect with Absolute Cold. When Black Viper proposes neutral negotiations, Jishh and part of the town's war band secretly join an ambush. Ryun detects the betrayal but waits until the conspirators act, then kills Jishh, the attacking Lords, and Fier's mother, a Black Viper monarch. At Wolf's Grove, Enka and infiltrators attempt to seize Anrosh and falsely claim Kri is captive. Anrosh kills the two Lord attackers with her new techniques, while Ereclaw protects Kri and helps end the coup. Ryun later kills Enka for breaking her word. His obligation to the town as a whole ends in his view, but he leaves its prisoners and future to Anrosh because his personal promise to her and Kri remains binding.

Past events reveal that Ryun and Melody once defended an independent settlement until United Government forces attacked, captured them, and exploited the cultivators for essence. Ryun made a costly bargain with the Dealmaker and prepared for escape. In the present, Eerv invites Ryun to negotiate but defeats him through superior martial skill. Black Viper blinds, chains, and tortures Ryun. The pain breaks his mental wall and restores the history it contained. Melody died long before the present, and Ryun's grief and retaliation led to the killings that made him the World Ender. He accepts responsibility while retaining his belief that he avenged Melody and their people. Reunited with his identity, he restores Perfect Cut, evolves his senses, breaks his restraints, and kills his torturer and guards. Ryun recovers his equipment and consumes his stored combat enhancements. Still blind but able to navigate through Resonance Sense, he rejects escape and enters the Black Viper city to confront the sect openly.

Ryun fights through Black Viper forces to build strength for a rematch with Eerv. Before that duel begins, Eerv orders the sect to kneel and offers surrender. A Dealmaker contract binds Eerv Ji Van and Black Viper to Ryun for fifty years. Ryun accepts only after requiring the release of the enslaved ruler of the Empty Sky, then preserves a remnant of his former Reaper power rather than allowing it to vanish. Eerv transfers the sect and its three territories to Ryun. Although Ryun does not want ordinary rule, he appoints Anrosh as his voice and practical governor, with Eerv restricted to advising her. He renames the organization the Twilight Melody Sect in memory of Melody. The takeover ends the immediate war and closes Anrosh and Kri's debt to Black Viper, but it leaves Ryun responsible for a financially unstable sect. A respawning dungeon in one of the claimed territories becomes the most promising source of revenue.

Anrosh establishes authority over the Twilight Melody Sect while Eerv serves as her contract-bound adviser. The freed ruler of the Empty Sky becomes Ryun's confidential cultivation teacher after he promises to seek a way to restore her. She persuades him to make cultivation his primary route and skills his secondary focus. Ryun remains blind by choice during training, though his eyes begin regenerating. Reyla and Nayra retain their mercenary-guild cover near the former Black Viper territories. Their team learns that a Category 3 monster swarm is moving toward the frontier, and Reyla stays long enough to judge whether Ryun and the local sects can survive it. Ryun, Anrosh, and Eerv locate the Heartstone Core Dungeon and clear it together. Ryun defeats its final golem, earns a large essence reward, and secures the first-clear title. The dungeon could provide renewable income, but it is too dangerous for the sect's ordinary members to farm. Zach remains far away with the Wardens, still preparing for a lawful future confrontation with Ryun.

Ryun escapes Black Viper captivity, recovers the memories hidden behind his mental wall, and accepts that Melody's death and his retaliation made him the World Ender. Eerv Ji Van surrenders Black Viper through a Dealmaker-enforced fifty-year service contract. Ryun takes its territories, renames it the Twilight Melody Sect, and leaves Anrosh in practical command with Eerv as an adviser. Kri is safe and training, Ereclaw remains Ryun's contracted partner despite rejection by his former pack, and Kagehime remains bonded to Ryun. The freed ruler of the Empty Sky becomes Ryun's cultivation teacher. Ryun, Anrosh, and Eerv clear the Heartstone Core Dungeon, gaining essence and a possible source of income, although the sect cannot yet farm it safely. Ryun remains blind, but his eyes are regenerating. Reyla and Nayra continue their covert frontier assignment as a Category 3 monster swarm approaches. Far away, Zach is a silver-badge Warden partnered with Gris and is still preparing for a lawful future confrontation with Ryun.
