Omega Rising

By Joshua Dalzelle

First in the Omega Force series. Jason, a U.S. military veteran living alone, investigates a damaged alien craft that lands near his mountain cabin and finds himself sealed inside and carried into space. Aboard the heavily damaged gunship, he meets Dietz, a sardonic synthetic being repairing the vessel alone, who explains that the ship needs a biological representative to conduct business in places where synthetics are not recognized as persons. After achieving humanity's first walk on the surface of Mars during the ship's repairs, Jason agrees to join Dietz on a mission to retrieve stored cargo, setting out toward interstellar space despite lingering doubts about what happened to the gunship's original crew.
