When the Wanderers guild is tasked with claiming an isolated, self-sufficient town for the kingdom of Ardania, Joe assembles a fledgling adventuring party: a monk who fights with real chiropractic technique, a chanting frontline warrior, and a poison-wielding artificer. The town's wary mayor refuses to grant the guild entry outright, instead requiring the newcomers to win over every property owner individually, beginning with a blacksmith who will only cooperate once his family's monster-infested iron mine is cleared.
