Earth's integration traps biologist Jack Rust in a dungeon, where he advances through combat, befriends Harambe's primates, kills two Black Wolf bosses, and founds the Bare Fist Brotherhood. After freeing Volville from Henry's Fang, he enters the integration tournament in disguise and builds alliances with Edgar, Vivi Aragon, Dorman Whistles, Li Shang, and the Sage against the Animal Kingdom's Scions. Jack reaches E-grade with a perfect Dao Seed of the Fist and wins when Rufus Emberheart misses the final, but Exploding Sun withdraws its promised protection under Animal Kingdom pressure, and Galicia authorizes an attack. Sadaka and Li Shang die, while Vivi and Edgar are left gravely hurt or unconscious. Rufus returns at E-grade, and Jack kills him after creating Iron Fist Style. Brock saves the exhausted Jack from Gan Salin and takes him through a teleporter to an unknown destination. Jack leaves the Brotherhood defended on Earth and plans to return strong enough to challenge Animal Kingdom rule.

Earth is absorbed into a System that introduces levels, monsters, dungeons, and an approaching integration tournament. Jack Rust, a biologist nearing his PhD, is caught inside the Forest of the Strong, a sealed dungeon he can leave only by defeating its boss. He kills goblins with his bare hands, gains levels and Fistfighting knowledge, and uses a hidden Ice Pond to heal and strengthen himself. Scouting reveals three monster groups - goblins, earth bears, and territorial gym monkeys - along with a level-49 Black Wolf that rules the dungeon. Jack begins a calculated campaign against the goblins, but their shaman responds by deploying stronger patrols. He kills a hobgoblin and takes its sword, then shifts toward hunting earth bears when goblin patrols become too dangerous. By chapter 9 he has learned that the Black Wolf is far beyond his present strength, so every smaller fight becomes preparation for the eventual confrontation.

Jack defeats the Goblin Shaman, despawning the goblin tribe and reaching level 15. He chooses the elite Pugilist class, which separates his physical attributes and grants Drill, a skill that penetrates hard defenses. The goblins' resource sharply improves his speed, allowing him to fight earth bears directly. He then battles the level-30 rock bear, the bear group's boss, until both collapse; the bear dies from accumulated internal damage and Jack reaches level 22. Jack delays despawning the remaining bears so the Black Wolf will still have prey. He heals in the Ice Pond and gains Pugilist Body. His next target is the ape group, whose resource appears suited to strength. The Black Wolf remains the required dungeon boss and continues to demonstrate power far beyond ordinary monsters.

Jack completes the Ice Pond's rewards and enters the ape territory peacefully. A boxing match with the group alpha ends when Jack wins but refuses a lethal finishing blow. The primates accept him, and he names their leader Harambe. Jack shares the dungeon's resources with his new allies and, through further waterfall meditation, develops a Dao root of the Fist. Together they attack the Black Wolf. Harambe and the primates suffer heavy losses before Jack kills it, only for its uninjured mate to appear. Jack faces the second wolf alone while wounded and exhausted. His combat skills advance under pressure, and he fuses his Dao into Calamitous Punch to create Meteor Punch, killing the second boss. The victory grants a faction permit, so Jack forms the Bare Fist Brotherhood and claims the forest as its territory, preventing the surviving primates from being erased by a dungeon reset.

After burying the primates killed in the boss battle, Jack leaves Harambe as guardian of the Forest of the Strong and accepts responsibility for Harambe's young son, Brock. Outside, he finds Volville controlled by Henry's Fang and learns that his foster mother, Professor Margaret Rust, has been kept under surveillance. Jack meets the djinn merchant Ar'Tazul and learns more about the economy of System resources. Edgar, a fire wizard whose parents were killed by Henry's Fang, joins Jack's challenge against the faction. Jack and Edgar assault the Volville Hotel, overcome its armed members, and confront leader Henry White. Henry reveals that he serves the Scion Gan Salin, but Jack kills him with Meteor Punch. Henry's Fang collapses, and Jack claims Volville for the Bare Fist Brotherhood. The town is free of its coercive ruler, but Henry's connection to Gan Salin creates a larger threat ahead of the integration tournament.

Jack recruits Volville residents, buys the Parkour skill, and appoints Margaret as the Brotherhood's Supervisor. Edgar acquires a Dao Fruit of Magic on credit and commits to Jack's faction. Margaret begins organizing Volville and explains that Earth's grace period will end under Animal Kingdom rule unless its people gain enough power and standing. Gan Salin arrives to claim Henry's former faction and tries to recruit Jack for the tournament. Jack refuses, defeats him in a rooftop battle, and takes his credit card, although Gan escapes through a teleportation item. Jack brings Margaret and Edgar to the forest, where they meet Harambe and use the dungeon resources. The Brotherhood decides to relocate its headquarters there for protection and growth. Edgar develops a Dao root of Magic. To keep the Scions from tracing tournament retaliation back to his faction, Jack drinks a disguise potion before teleporting away with Edgar and Brock.

Integration City rises as the tournament venue. Jack adopts the identity John Brown and registers with a false Dao and a flip-flop weapon, hiding both his faction and his Dao of the Fist. An unnamed cousin of Ar'Tazul guides Jack and Edgar through the city. Jack trains against an advanced robot and learns how wide the gap is between F-grade and E-grade power. Planetary overseer Galicia Lonahor opens the tournament under rules that eliminate competitors after two losses. Jack wins his first match while maintaining his false fighting persona, and Edgar also advances. Dorman Whistles displays extraordinary speed. Rufus Emberheart, the strongest Scion and tournament favorite, kills his opening opponent despite the surrender rules. Jack publicly accuses Rufus of breaking the rules and demands enforcement, leaving the ruling unresolved at the end of chapter 52.

After Jack challenges Rufus Emberheart, the judges assign Rufus a loss for killing an opponent who had surrendered. The confrontation makes Jack a public figure and a direct enemy of the Scions. His djinn manager begins turning that attention into sponsorships and tournament income. The Sage proves that his divination reaches Jack's hidden past, describes the Scions' covert arrival before the System changed Earth, and tells Jack that he needs a fund of two million credits for the coming Hand of God auction. Jack accepts the goal, buys a large experience ball on credit, and continues training against the advanced robot in his residence. He wins another match while preserving his John Brown disguise. Vivi Aragon meets Jack in person, and they develop mutual respect while watching the tournament. Li Shang demonstrates exceptional unarmed skill, and Jack learns that strong competitors may hide their titles. Jack resists Chen Zexi's soul influence and defeats her. Vivi then defeats Gan Salin in a fire-based contest, showing publicly that a human can overcome a Scion. She invites Jack, Edgar, and their manager into a Flame River alliance against Ice Peak and the Scions, and Jack accepts. Dorman Whistles subsequently asks Jack for a private spar.

The Sage demonstrates knowledge of Jack's concealed fight with Gan Salin and warns him to gather two million credits before the Hand of God auction. Jack uses loans, betting, sponsorships, and tournament winnings to reach that target. Vivi Aragon defeats Gan Salin and brings Jack, Edgar, and their manager into an alliance with Flame River against Ice Peak and the Scions. Dorman Whistles joins after a private spar with Jack ends without a clear victor. Jack develops a second Dao root, Indomitable Will, while Brock forms a Dao root of his own. In the last preliminary round, the sharkin Scion exposes John Brown as Jack Rust. Jack defeats him, but biased officiating assigns Jack a loss. Sixteen finalists remain. Three projected mentors select Jack, with an Exploding Sun cultivator winning the claim because Jack's Dao is linked to the faction's ancestor. Galicia tries to disqualify Jack, but mentor intervention reverses the decision and keeps him in the tournament.

Jack's Exploding Sun mentor begins training him in advanced Drill, Parkour, and the foundations of a personal fighting style. At the auction, the Sage buys a starship, Dorman obtains a Dao fruit, and the Scions acquire several powerful items. Rufus gives Alexander a Fire and Ice Lotus. Jack relies on loans from allies to outbid Rufus for a Rainbow Dao pill, a resource that may accelerate an E-grade breakthrough. Brock provokes Rufus, and Jack intercepts Rufus's retaliation, leading the Hand of God host to punish both fighters with fines and a temporary blacklist. Jack then learns that Exploding Sun cannot simply shelter the Brotherhood from the Animal Kingdom. His mentor offers to remove Jack alone, but Jack refuses to abandon his people. The tournament finals begin. Jack reaches level 49 and decisively defeats the sharkin Scion, while Edgar advances after the Sage resigns. Alexander, Vivi, Li Shang, Dorman, Rufus, and an eagle Scion also remain in contention.

Jack and Vivi begin a relationship while discussing whether their factions can resist the Scions. Jack then faces Edgar in the quarterfinal and wins only after enduring a complex multi-element magical attack. Dorman defeats the eagle Scion by combining Speed and Lightning Dao skills. Rufus overwhelms Li Shang and turns much of the audience against him. Alexander nearly kills Vivi in their match; she renders herself unconscious to end it, and Jack breaks the arena barrier to stop Alexander's follow-up strike. Vivi survives but loses her place in the tournament. With few realistic ways to evacuate or dissolve the Brotherhood, Jack sends his remaining funds home and focuses on advancement. He raises Drill and Parkour to tier 3 and begins trying to forge them, together with Fistfighting, into a personal Dao fighting style. The semifinal draw places Dorman against Rufus and Jack against Alexander.

Rufus defeats Dorman without attacking, using a Supremacy shield that weakens Dao he judges inferior. Jack then defeats Alexander cleanly and reaches the final. Exploding Sun offers a possible route to protect the Brotherhood if Jack wins and accepts discipleship under a senior elder. Training with Dorman and Li Shang fails to produce Jack's desired fighting style, but Meteor Punch advances and can now travel as a powerful projectile. When the final begins, Rufus is absent. The reason is an E-grade breakthrough intended to restore his damaged sense of supremacy. Galicia privately orders Jack to resign and applies concealed mental pressure when he refuses. The Sage advises him to wait, since Rufus is unlikely to finish before the forfeit deadline. Jack turns the overseer's pressure into a meditation challenge and begins an unplanned breakthrough of his own while allies gather around him in case the standoff becomes violent.

Jack's master realizes that he is entering E-grade without preparation. Edgar administers Jack's Dao Fruit of the Fist and Rainbow Dao pill, while Brock and Jack's allies form a defensive perimeter. Jack masters rather than submits to his Dao and forms an early perfect Dao Seed of the Fist, becoming Earth's first Dao-seed cultivator. He chooses the Fiend of the Iron Fist class, gaining a transformed body and Ghost Step. The triumph does not secure safety. Galicia bargains away outside interest in Jack, and Exploding Sun withdraws its promised protection under Animal Kingdom pressure. Jack responds by planning to leave Earth, seek rapid advancement and allies, and eventually defeat the overseer so his faction can claim the planet. Brock chooses to accompany him. Rufus fails to complete his own breakthrough before the deadline, so Jack is declared winner of the integration tournament.

Jack receives two Trial Planet tokens, an immortality serum, a soul-training item, and a D-grade robot bodyguard. He transfers his former training robot's personality into the new body and orders it to defend the Bare Fist Brotherhood. Galicia cancels his promised apprenticeship and authorizes the four Scions to attack. Jack's allies join the ensuing arena battle. Vivi and Flame River face Alexander and Ice Peak, while Dorman and Li Shang hold off other Scions. Sadaka is killed. Edgar defeats Gan Salin with an exhausting magical attack and collapses. Alexander severely wounds Vivi, then kills Li Shang as the martial artist protects Dorman. The healer Scion and eagle Scion escape, and another Scion is killed. Before Jack can reach the teleporter, Rufus returns from his breakthrough as an E-grade cultivator with a perfect Dao seed and demands the battle that the tournament deadline denied him.

Jack and Rufus fight as newly advanced E-grade rivals while the faction battle continues behind them. Rufus initially holds the advantage through superior speed, strength, and his king form. Jack retreats toward Integration City's teleporter but cannot escape. Under sustained pressure, he combines Fistfighting, Parkour, and Drill into Iron Fist Style, bringing their combat ability close to parity. As both fighters approach exhaustion, Rufus begins to fear death, weakening the Dao of Supremacy that depends on his unquestioned dominance. Jack seizes the opening and kills Rufus with repeated Meteor Punches despite Galicia's attempted intervention. Gan Salin then tries to murder the exhausted Jack. Brock arrives with his trained dog pack, drives Gan back, and carries Jack to the teleporter. Jack hides his titles, and Brock selects a random destination. They leave Earth for an unknown part of the galaxy. The Brotherhood remains behind under Margaret, Harambe's primates, its allies, and the D-grade robot, while Jack owes the Black Hole Church a favor for aid connected to his escape.

Jack wins the tournament when Rufus misses the final, but Exploding Sun withdraws its promised protection under Animal Kingdom pressure. Galicia separately cancels Jack's promised Animal Kingdom apprenticeship and permits the Scions to attack. Jack assigns his D-grade robot prize to protect the Bare Fist Brotherhood. In the ensuing battle, Sadaka and Li Shang are killed, Edgar defeats Gan Salin and collapses, and Alexander severely wounds Vivi before escaping. Rufus returns after reaching E-grade. Jack develops Iron Fist Style and kills him despite the overseer's attempted intervention. Gan Salin then attacks the exhausted Jack, but Brock and his dog pack drive him away. Brock carries Jack to the teleporter, and they depart for an unknown galactic destination. Margaret, Harambe's primates, the robot, and the surviving allies remain responsible for the Brotherhood on Earth. Gan Salin and the overseer remain hostile. Jack owes the Black Hole Church a favor and intends to become strong enough to return and take Earth from the Animal Kingdom.
