Soldiers of Fortune
The second Omega Force novel opens with mercenary captain Jason Burke and his crew posing as internal security officers to pull Senator Hallis Vongaard, along with his family, out of a political purge on the blockaded world of Corran. Their cover blown mid-operation, the team fights free under fire and flies the family to safety in Eshquaria aboard their gunship Phoenix, evading a determined pursuit along the way. Once the senator is delivered and paid for, the mysterious broker who hired the rescue, Crisstof Dalton, reveals himself and offers Omega Force a further, unofficial job connected to the political crisis unfolding on Corran.
