A level-79 Human Bronze Tank whose armor, glaive, and unusual solo-combat record make him a formidable member of Silvi's rescue effort. He extracts two survivors from an ambush but is caught beyond the portal when it closes.

Silvi (Supporting)

Appears from the start

Derek's portal-using acquaintance, coordinating the effort to retrieve an ambushed team. Her limited mana forces her to close the passage before Derek can fully escape.

Allie (Minor)

Appears from the start

A surviving member of Silvi's ambushed team. Derek reaches her location and gets her through the rescue portal before it closes.

John (Minor)

Appears from the start

A member of the team Silvi tries to rescue from an ambush. Derek finds that he has already died before the remaining survivors can be extracted.

Andrea (Minor)

Appears from the start

A member of Silvi's ambushed team. She is already dead when Derek reaches the group during the portal rescue.

Brandi's mother and one of the adults leading refugees from a destroyed village. She stays behind with Sana and Marshall to delay pursuing wolves while the civilians continue fleeing.

Leon (Supporting)

The chief of a village overrun by forest beasts. While civilians flee toward another settlement, he remains with the defenders attempting to hold the gate.

Sana (Supporting)

Leon's wife and a leader among the civilians escaping their ruined village. When wolves catch the refugees, she remains behind with Malorie and Marshall to buy the others time.

Marshall (Minor)

First appears in chapter 9

An escort helping civilians escape the monster attack. He joins Sana and Malorie in delaying the pursuing wolf pack while the rest of the refugees continue toward safety.

Travis (Supporting)

Brandi's father and one of the injured defenders who remains at the village while civilians flee the monster assault.

Asher (Antagonist)

The name Derek gives a massive creature emerging from the rupture opened by Void Call. His belief that it might obey him ends immediately when it attacks.

Thomas's grandmother and Richard's wife. She is part of the family to which Thomas returns after his ordeal in the forest.

A villager assigned to organize the incoming refugees. Rayna also selects him to help carry a warning about the forest crisis toward Torith.

The village innkeeper and bartender. He arranges Derek's lodging and accepts a hide in exchange for accommodations and a modest bar credit.

The lost boy Derek escorted home, now identified by his full name. Thomas Stewart has chosen Rogue despite Derek's doubts about the fit, and binds himself through a Great System oath never to disclose Derek's secrets.

The leader of a high-level House Gracefall party that assaults Rayna's village over valuable hides. He prepares to execute Rayna after she intervenes to protect Brandi and Malorie.

The novice leatherworker earlier known as Brandi, now identified as Brandi Fields. Derek finds her unconscious after a House Gracefall party attacks her home over valuable hides.

Malorie Fields (Supporting)

Brandi's mother, now identified as Malorie Fields. She is critically injured during the House Gracefall assault, and Derek stabilizes her with Rejuvenation after returning to the deserted village.

The village chief earlier known as Rayna, now identified as Rayna West. Derek finds her critically wounded and facing execution after she opposed the House Gracefall attackers.

Canis Cyclonus (Antagonist)

A level-65 wind wolf and the boss of a level-50 beast dungeon. It traps Derek inside a tornado filled with cutting winds during the party's attempt to complete the dungeon.

Maria (Minor)

A lesser Sybil serving House Gracefall. By examining a possession of the missing noble, she determines that he has no future and thereby confirms his death.

Bronson (Supporting)

A high-status adventurer in House Gracefall's service. He receives a one-month assignment to investigate a young noble's death and the quest that led to it.

Silvi (Supporting)

First appears in chapter 40

Derek's portal-using acquaintance, now confirmed as the horned rabbit that travelled with him. Their bond transforms her into a void rabbit with a legendary companion class.

Wallace Gracefall (Antagonist)

The House Gracefall noble who led the earlier attack on Rayna's village. His full identity is now connected to the man whose death Derek concealed as a casualty of the Undying Dungeon.
