When Earth enters the system, office analyst and archer Jake is sent into a lethal forest tutorial with his coworkers. His exceptional instincts awaken as the Bloodline of the Primal Hunter, and he leaves the group after Richard coerces them into a larger settlement and sends Nicholas to kill him. A solo challenge makes Jake an alchemist tied to the god known as the Malefic Viper, whose blessing helps him cure the dungeon's poison and begin combining archery with toxins. Meanwhile William secretly engineers a war between the survivor factions. Richard and Caroline later help ambush Jake, ending his interest in reconciliation. William ultimately betrays Richard, kills Caroline and Richard, and destroys most of the organized survivors, though an unidentified man preserves his life. Jacob survives and becomes the Holy Mother's blessed Augur of Hope. Jake remains in the inner area, clears Badger's Den by killing its level 82 Den Mother, and begins a quest to defeat three more beast lords before confronting their unseen king.

Earth is absorbed into the system, and Jake enters a sixty-three-day forest tutorial with coworkers from his elevator. He chooses Archer, while Jacob becomes the group's leader, Bertram its main defender, Caroline its healer, and the others fill additional combat roles. Jake's long experience with a bow immediately makes him their strongest hunter. The first battles bring food and levels but also cost Joanna part of a leg, creating conflict when Jacob blames Jake's independent attack for the injury. Jake begins testing an unexplained ability to sense danger. During his solitary night watch, three other initiates ambush him for equipment and tutorial points. His awareness expands under pressure, allowing him to kill all three. The system identifies the awakened ability as the Bloodline of the Primal Hunter, which strengthens his instincts, perception, and awareness of nearby threats. Jake gains substantial levels and a new title, but the emotional aftermath isolates him from the horrified group. Only after the fight does he fully confront that his opponents were human.

Jake pushes his coworkers to hunt rather than hide, but Richard soon arrives with a larger armed organization and makes Caroline's services as a healer a condition of cooperation. Jake leaves alone after warning Richard not to mistreat the others. Richard nevertheless sends Nicholas and six stealth fighters to remove him. Jake ambushes the squad, kills Nicholas and most of the pursuers, and releases one survivor to carry a warning. Richard suspends further action, while Jake begins hunting deeper in the forest by himself. Solo combat raises Jake's levels and teaches him the limits of both his bloodline and his physical recovery. He finds hidden magical lockboxes, acquiring self-repairing bracers and improving his cloak. Avoiding other humans, he searches for stronger prey and worthwhile rewards. A cave leads him to a solo challenge dungeon available only to high-scoring initiates below level ten who lack a profession. Jake meets every condition and enters, surrendering any certainty about what waits inside.

The challenge dungeon removes Jake's equipment and ordinary skills, then subjects him to corrosive traps and symbolic crossings. His bloodline continues to function despite the restrictions. By choosing a dangerous route associated with a wyvern rather than an offered safe path, he earns access to a hidden area and witnesses a creature's progression from snake to dragon. A poisoned pedestal offers Jake a profession linked to the Malefic Viper. He accepts and becomes a poison-specialized alchemist, but must cure the dormant toxin within thirty days. Working from the dungeon's laboratory, garden, and library, he learns to brew mana and health potions, studies toxins by consuming them, and creates a hemotoxic poison suitable for coating weapons. His growing profession complements his archery but does not yet solve the lethal deadline. Continued alchemy carries his race to its evolution threshold, and he becomes a Human F. The evolution also strengthens his Bloodline of the Primal Hunter, after which he invests heavily in perception and resumes the search for a cure.

Outside the dungeon, Richard's settlement expands into a fortified community while deaths mount in a supposed war with Hayden's rival camp. Joanna's race evolution restores her leg and she leads the crafters. Jacob becomes an administrator, Caroline becomes his partner, and Casper develops as a trapper. The conflict is not what either faction believes: William, a teenage Metal Savant within Richard's camp, has been killing groups from both sides and arranging the evidence to sustain the war. Jake continues alchemy under his poison deadline, creating common Necrotic Poison and earning a superior profession evolution. The evolution brings him face to face with the Malefic Viper, revealed as the god who created the dungeon and its legacy. The Viper grants Jake a True Blessing, conceals the scale of Jake's achievements from wider notice, and treats him with unusual personal favor. Jake returns from that meeting with new abilities and substantial gains, but he remains confined in the dungeon and must still cure its dormant poison before the deadline.

Jake prepares a volatile poison-based cure as the dungeon deadline approaches. When the implanted toxin activates, he drinks the mixture and survives the struggle between its opposing energies and his own vitality. The cleared dungeon rewards him with rare boots, a storage necklace, and new titles. He packs its portable books, equipment, ingredients, and plants before the timer expires, then returns to the tutorial forest. His long absence has left him separated from both major survivor groups and unaware of much of their internal collapse. Within the faction conflict, William continues exploiting mistrust and isolated fighters. Casper discovers that William murdered Lyra, Casper's girlfriend. Rather than accept an ordinary death or continue within the tutorial, Casper performs a ritual transformation. His living body dies, but he becomes a young undead and is removed from the tutorial under the authority of unidentified observers. Casper deliberately leaves William alive to remember what happened. The apparent death therefore marks an exit and transformation rather than a simple killing, while William remains embedded among survivors and the larger war continues.

Jake advances through increasingly dangerous hunts, refining his poison-assisted fighting style and moving toward the tutorial's inner area. He develops Powershot and continues to favor difficult solo opponents as the fastest route to growth. His connection to the Malefic Viper remains hidden from the human factions. Richard learns enough about William's violence to understand that the teenager is a killer, but keeps him as a useful weapon against Hayden's camp while planning to dispose of him afterward. This choice preserves the threat inside Richard's own organization. Far beyond the tutorial, an obelisk signals the Malefic Viper's return and summons the diminished Malefic Order's mortal hallmaster. Lord Protector, the deity who guarded the order during its patron's absence, is also positioned to respond to the return.

Richard uses Jake's earlier clashes with both camps to portray him as the hidden murderer driving the war. The story gives Richard and Hayden a common target while concealing William's responsibility. Jacob attempts to reopen contact with Jake, but the meeting is part of an ambush. Caroline knowingly assists Richard's plan, even as Jacob's own participation remains uncertain. Jake escapes the coordinated attack by breaking into the inner area, where the tutorial's boundary had previously kept the human factions out. Hayden critically wounds him with a fiery spear, but Jake reaches the barrier and crosses it. Isolated and badly injured in the inner area, Jake faces three high-level raptors without support.

Jake recovers in the inner area, evolves his combat class into Ambitious Hunter, and continues hunting high-level beasts. Outside, Jacob confronts Caroline, who admits her part in the ambush. A smith named Hermann Schmidt secretly allies with William after Richard's people kill Hermann's family. Hermann sacrifices his life to transform William's armor into a soulbound Epic legacy, and William accepts the obligation to avenge him. Richard marches nearly two hundred people against the remnants of Hayden's faction, seeking control of almost every surviving human. Desmond's defenders spring an organized counterattack, but their force is destroyed and Desmond dies in a failed attempt to take Richard with him. William then betrays Richard's side and kills Caroline. Protected by Hermann's armor, he fights Richard's remaining elites and unleashes a vortex of battlefield metal that destroys nearly everyone, including Richard. William collapses critically injured after vowing further revenge. An unidentified man uses a crystal to keep him alive. The organized survivor order is left effectively annihilated.

Jake sees the tutorial population settle at only forty-nine survivors and decides not to return to the outer camps. He clears a resource-rich valley, upgrades his quiver, acquires a frost-enchanted short sword, and develops Splitting Arrow. His exploration leads to Badger's Den, a dungeon intended for as many as five people, which he enters alone. Jake fights through packs of Venomfang Badgers while replenishing arrows, potions, and poison between encounters. The dungeon's Alpha Venomfang Badger proves fast enough to counter his usual movement and resistant enough to remove poisoned flesh. During the battle, Jake learns to support Powershot with mana as well as stamina, destroying his old bow but evolving the attack into the rare Infused Powershot. He kills the level seventy-one alpha through accumulated wounds, poison, and blood loss. At class level forty he also gains Mark of the Ambitious Hunter, a covert tracking and damage ability. The Den Mother remains ahead as the dungeon's true objective.

Jacob finds the aftermath of William's massacre, confirms Caroline's death, and chooses not to kill the unconscious William. His failing combat path evolves into Augur of Hope, a class built around guidance and support. The Holy Mother recruits him, grants him a Greater Blessing, and positions him as a future speaker. Jacob returns with new abilities for sustaining others while keeping painful information from the remaining survivors. In Badger's Den, Jake kills the additional alphas around the final chamber and successfully creates a common hemotoxic poison. An attempted dream manipulation uses the appearance of his former roommate Andrew, but Jake recognizes the intrusion and the Malefic Viper drives the outside influence away. Jake then marks the Den Mother, counters its poison, summoned alphas, barrier, and healing, and kills the level eighty-two beast with poisoned arrows and Infused Powershot. The solo clear advances his dungeon titles and yields Venomfang, a rare dagger, along with armor and a valuable poison gland. A new quest identifies the Den Mother as one of four beast lords. Jake leaves with one lord defeated and turns toward the remaining dungeons that will force their unseen king to appear.

Jake clears Badger's Den alone after killing its Alpha Venomfang Badgers and the level 82 Den Mother. He leaves with the rare dagger Venomfang, the Den Mother's poison gland, upgraded titles, and one of four required victories in The Beast Lords quest. He expects the other mountain dungeons to hold the remaining lords, whose deaths will draw out their unseen king. The survivor factions outside have collapsed. Richard, Caroline, Hayden, Hermann Schmidt, and Desmond are dead. William survives his destruction of Richard's force only because an unidentified man intervenes, and he remains hostile toward Jake and Richard's surviving followers. Jacob lives as the Holy Mother's newly blessed Augur of Hope, sustaining the remaining group's morale while concealing painful truths. Joanna and Bertram are last known alive, while Casper has left the tutorial as a young undead. The Malefic Viper has ended his seclusion, regards Jake as a friend, and has prompted the Malefic Order to take an interest in Jake. The force behind an attempted manipulation of Jake's dream remains unidentified.
