Ultimate Level 1: Ultimate Truths

By Shawn Wilson

The seventh entry in Ultimate Level 1 finds Max, now publicly known by his true surname Hoste, confronting the twin queens who ordered a hunter sent after him, and learning that skills can be bestowed rather than only earned and that a mysterious system exists for labeling children unskilled. A divine confrontation outside Windsor Wheel reveals that Max is one of three black-skill bearers whose growing strength could trigger a wider crisis, leaving him uncertain who else may be watching. He then returns home for a family visit timed to his hometown's Choosing Day, wary of what the unskilled-labeling scheme might mean for people he loves.
