The ruler of the Winter Court. After the demon prince's emissary announces an approaching parade, she prepares her court for war and orders a message sent to a maker.

The god of war

A senior power of the Seventh Heaven and an old adversary of the mortal wizard who visits him. The warning that a mysterious parade will begin convinces him that another war is approaching.

A divine authority who receives Hadjar after the sanctuary crisis. She gives him a blue ribbon meant to identify a matching light and distinguishes it from the corrupted token once supplied by Chin'Ameh.

The Star Rain princess's father and head of her clan. His reported illness and withdrawal after her disappearance have allowed his second wife and another daughter to assume control of the family manor.

The ruler of the enemy clan holding the Star Rain clan head after a dispute linked to tournament wagers. The captive gives her leverage over the Star Rain forces gathered outside her city.

The two-colored-eyed bard (Minor)

An unidentified bard with two differently colored eyes who recognizes Hadjar's flying jade as connected to a fallen star and sings about the Mad General.

The boar leader (Minor)

The mortally frost-wounded leader of a devastated boar den. He challenges Hadjar to a duel and offers directions to the liquid-ice waterfall in return.

The white-haired village scout (Supporting)

A white-haired scout who appears with a companion and warns Hadjar's party away from a dangerous liquid-ice waterfall.

The veiled master (Antagonist)

First appears in chapter 56

A veiled figure who urges the ancient wizard to reclaim his throne and prepare for an approaching catastrophe. When the wizard refuses, the master removes him in fog.

The white-haired village chief (Supporting)

The white-haired leader of a stockaded settlement who confidently welcomes Hadjar's party as peaceful visitors.

The ice-wolf shaman (Supporting)

A Celestial-stage being revealed as the last ice wolf of the Nameless world. Hadjar is brought alone to its presence beside the liquid-ice waterfall.

The Jasper Emperor (Supporting)

A ruler of the Seventh Heaven who appears in a memory of the Black General after the War of Heaven and Earth. He calls the general the realm's savior.

The mortal healer (Supporting)

A mortal village healer who rescues the wounded, amnesiac former general and gives him the name Nameless. Her innate magic is connected to plants and wind.

The goddess of love (Supporting)

A divine visitor who offers to return Nameless to his former existence. Direct contact with him in mortal form would kill him.

Boreas (Supporting)

Also known as northern wind

An ancient power of the northern wind approached by the mortal Black General during a crisis. Boreas offers aid only in exchange for the general's unique instrument and warns that helping him may draw the god of war closer.

The young Star Rain warrior (Supporting)

First appears in chapter 77

A young Star Rain fighter who reaches Hadjar's group inside enemy territory and reports that he survived the failed rescue attempt.

The sun god (Supporting)

First appears in chapter 80

A repeatedly reborn deity who retains his memories. The Jasper Emperor asks him to locate a mortal carrying a major fragment of the Black General, but he refuses to assist despite his far-reaching perception.
